Godhead Theology is a study of Christian Godhead theology. Beginning during the lifetime of the apostles of our Lord, the identity of Jesus was challenged: Was He God or not? In Godhead Theology Bishop Jerry Hayes follows that debate through the first 300 years of the Church's history. Our book is in five sections: Section One is the history of the early Church from A. D. 100 to 400 and demonstrates Modalistic Monarchianism as the original orthodoxy of the Chruch; Section Two introduces the Apostolic Creed and establishes its purpose; Section Three is an affirmation of Modalistic Monarchianism; Section Four is Modalism's responses to objection from the pluralist: Trinitarians, Binitarians, Arians and Semi-Arians. Included are two comprehensive indexes: Subject Index and Scripture Index.

Eminent theologian Thomas J. J. Altizer breaks new ground by exploring the ultimate transfiguration of the Godhead as a question of the Nihil or nothingness and God. The Nihil is essential to the full actualization of the Godhead in that it fully occurs in both a primordial and an apocalyptic sacrifice of the Godhead. Virtually unexplored by philosophical and theological thinking, the Nihil is luminously enacted in the deepest expressions of the imagination, and most clearly and decisively so in the Christian epic tradition. Altizer looks at the works of philosophers and theologians such as Spinoza, Barth, Hegel, Nietzsche, and epic writers such as Dante, Milton, and Blake to ultimately posit a God that is necessarily a dichotomous God.

The physical resurrection of Jesus Christ forever changed the nature of the Godhead. Indeed, the birth and death of Jesus Christ changed the nature of the Godhead. But, His physical resurrection changed it forever. The simple truth is that within the nature of the Godhead, Jesus Christ has a physical, resurrected body of flesh and bones. How does His physical, resurrected body affect the nature of the Godhead? Is God a spirit? If Jesus Christ is the Oneness God or a third part of the Trinity God, how can either of these Gods be a spirit when Jesus Christ has a resurrected body of flesh and bones? It is impossible! If the Oneness God or the Trinity God is a spirit then Christ is a spirit, which means He died a second time. His body and spirit would have separated a second time. The Oneness and Trinity doctrines are really descriptions of a failed resurrection and atonement. The good news is "that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more" (Romans 6:9-10). This being so, what is really the true nature of the Godhead with a physical Christ? Now is the time find out by reading this book!

The Eternal Godhead written by Peter Martyr Vermigli and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-03-20 with Religion categories.

'The Eternal Godhead: Exploring the Trinity, Creation, and Divine Will' delves into the profound mysteries of the Christian faith, offering a comprehensive exploration of the nature of God, the concept of the Trinity, and the divine act of creation. Peter Martyr Vermigli masterfully navigates through theological discourse, beginning with an examination of the divine nature and attributes of God, emphasizing the incomprehensible essence of God that can be partially understood through His actions and titles, such as Jehovah, a name signifying the self-existing, eternal nature of God. Vermigli elaborates on the significance of understanding God's attributes-mercy, justice, omnipotence, and holiness-through the lens of the Holy Scriptures. He provides a thorough analysis of the Tetragrammaton and its profound implications for understanding God's eternal presence and sovereignty. The book further explores the divine will and God's interaction with His creation, illustrating how the biblical narratives of deliverance and providence reveal God's nature and intentions for humanity. In his exploration of the Trinity, Vermigli addresses the complex relationship between the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, clarifying the distinct persons within the Godhead while maintaining their unity in essence. He skillfully defends the divinity of Christ and the Holy Spirit against contemporary theological challenges, drawing from both Old and New Testament scriptures to affirm their coequal status with the Father. The work also delves into the mystery of creation, offering insights into the act of bringing the universe into existence ex nihilo (out of nothing) and the special creation of angels. Vermigli discusses the roles and natures of angels, their interaction with the physical world, and their service in the divine plan. 'The Eternal Godhead: Exploring the Trinity, Creation, and Divine Will' stands as a testament to Vermigli's profound scholarship and his commitment to orthodox Christian doctrine. Through meticulous argumentation and a deep reverence for scriptural authority, he invites readers into a deeper understanding of the nature of God, the mystery of the Trinity, and the marvels of creation. This work is an invaluable resource for theologians, scholars, and anyone seeking to deepen their knowledge of Christian theology and the inexhaustible richness of the Godhead. Peter Martyr Vermigli (1499-1562) was a significant figure in the Reformation, known for his contributions to Protestant theology and his role in the development of the Reformed tradition. Born in Florence, Italy, Vermigli entered the Augustinian order in his early youth and received a thorough education in philosophy and theology, which laid the groundwork for his later work. Vermigli was deeply influenced by the writings of Martin Luther and other Reformers, which led to a gradual shift in his theological views towards Protestantism. This shift resulted in his leaving Italy for safer, more receptive environments in Northern Europe, where he could freely express and develop his Reformed theological perspectives. Throughout his career, Vermigli held several important positions. He served as a professor of theology in Strasbourg, where he became a friend and colleague of Martin Bucer, another prominent Reformer. Later, he moved to England, where he was appointed Regius Professor of Divinity at the University of Oxford during the reign of Edward VI. Vermigli played a key role in the English Reformation, influencing the development of the Book of Common Prayer and the Thirty-Nine Articles, foundational texts for the Church of England.

In the world today there are many choices and many concepts about everything. With these different concepts a wide array of philosophical attitudes also exists. In philosophy many things are devoid of specifics and often lack tangent (solid) ideals. For the most part, philosophy and idealistic concepts are left up to the individual to decipher and can be applied in many different ways and yet be true. Such ideas as "There is nothing as right or wrong" and "To thy own self be true," are but two of these concepts. The identity of Christ is a very important factor in Biblical prophecy as well as salvation and doctrine. If the identity of Christ is misunderstood then false teaching will arise. It is my intention to bring out the identity of the members of the Godhead with the support of scripture as proof.

The doctrine of God remains as important as ever. The Apostle Paul rebuked the Corinthians in the first century for accepting "another Jesus" and "a different gospel" (2 Cor 11:4). Denial of the deity of Christ and the Holy Trinity were no doubt among the falsehoods condemned by Paul as "doctrines of demons" (1 Tim 4:1). Christians need to know the biblical basis for these beliefs, in view of the many historic heresies and recent fashionable nonsense such as open theism and process theology. My emphasis is on a listing of many scores of relevant Bible passages (systematic theology). Additionally, I attempt to explain "theology proper" in laymen's terms, so that, with the aid of this book, soaked with Scripture, anyone will be able to defend the biblical (and Nicene, Chalcedonian) truths of the Holy Trinity, Jesus as the incarnate God, and the divinity of the Holy Spirit. The coherence and truthfulness of orthodox, biblical theology of God is evident, the more these passages are understood.
