Most anyone can putt a golf ball. Very few are able to hit the hole consistently. It is amazing to watch the pros do it! But we can all do better with more practice and training. However there is a science behind accurate putting and the purpose of this book is to present results of an analysis for use by the average golfer and the pro as well, and particularly for the golfers who want to improve their techniques and add some birdies to their scores. Hopefully all readers will gain appreciation of the science behind good putting. This book presents the results of an analysis of the path of putting a golf ball on sloping greens. The analysis was begun in 2011 and a computer algorithm has also been developed. For given conditions of slope, rolling resistance, and distance to the hole, the initial velocity and initial angle of the putting stroke can be predicted for the curved path needed to put the ball in the hole. In addition there is a section added that is devoted to chipping as well. The details of the analysis was copyrighted in a paper in 2012, "GOLFPATH (c) - Predicting the Path of Putting a Golf Ball on Sloping Greens". This paper is included in the Appendix 1 of this book for those who have more background in mathematics and concepts of physics and engineering. The author has attempted to present results of the analysis in a graphic way and in tables to be more easily understood. It has been difficult to explain everything without some algebra and trigonometry. This may cause some readers to refresh their knowledge in these subjects. If so, a little difficulty will not be in vain.

The details of this analysis were copyrighted in a paper in 2012, "Golfpath (c) - Predicting The Path Of Putting A Golf Ball On Sloping Greens". Then in 2017 more analyses and more results were published in a book, Golf Ball Putting Analytics. Also see www.Golfpath.net. In this present book some of the significant results are presented in charts to help golfers improve their putting strokes on sloping greens. It is assumed that the greens have constant slope and the resistance is uniform. Actual green surfaces may vary. Never the less the basic concepts and insights presented here should help the golfer putt with more accuracy overall.

The proven approach that guarantees results on the green by tapping the power of natural intuition? based on cutting-edge research Born out of the most popular Golf Magazine cover story of 2005, Instinct Putting begins with a crucial but counterintuitive premise: You should look at the hole, not at the ball, while putting. Golf-club technology has helped amateurs drive the ball farther than ever, but no amount of technology has managed to conquer the mind-game of putting. Delivering a complete paradigm shift, Instinct Putting features a breakthrough, scientifically proven method that will have golfers defying their previous training?while sinking more putts than they ever dreamed possible. Currently one of the hottest topics on the links, instinct putting combines simplicity with phenomenal results. Emphasizing the brain?s instinctive ability to perform incredible tasks through unconscious information processing, rather than through active thought, the authors take readers through important but uncomplicated steps to retrain their putting protocols. From stance and grip to execution, Instinct Putting puts the keys to precision putts in the hands of golfers at all levels. Ending the frustration on the green, this revolutionary approach transforms every golfer?s most maddening shots into their greatest rewards.

There are eighteen tee shots in a game but a medium to high handicap player will take as many as thirty-five to fifty putts during a game. Reading the green is an essential component of a successful game of golf. Ninety percent of the golfing literature deals with moving the ball from tee to green. Books and articles published on putting deal almost exclusively with grip, technique, and stroking the ball. Practically nothing is written about reading the green and estimating how much a ball will break. This book explains the way that a golf ball rolls and breaks after being hit. This book will guide you to better putting skills.“I would say that each day I holed between 2-5 putts that I would not have holed using the naked eye to judge. That is a huge return for someone with my handicap (six) representing a saving of nearly half of my handicap each round!!”Unsolicited praise from a fan of my work.

Did you ever wonder why your golf scores never improve much even after many years of experience? And, did you know putting contributes about 40% to your total score, making putting the single most important part of your golf game? Do you want to improve? Then, this book is a MUST read! Golfers need to understand and come to grips with the harsh realities putting places on them as well as the many factors that impact putting success, many more mental than physical; therefore, this book leaves the fundamentals of putting stroke to others. To assist golfers, or golfer “wannabes”, the author utilizes his 30 years’ experience in sport performance enhancement and 60 years of playing golf to provide a framework that will lead to increased putting performance IF you will follow some of book’s suggestions. The book is written in a conversational style, with the intent of having the reader interact with material presented – responding to questions, agreeing or disagreeing with a certain perspective, and perhaps searching your conscience for the “why’s” and “why not’s”. Innumerable drills and strategies are offered, both to improve the physical and mental sides of the golf game. Insights into how and what to practice, based on proven approaches, are emphasized to counter the haphazard way most golfers typically practice. Putting really is a head game. I certainly enjoyed reading your book. You have brought every act of putting to the surface. FINALLY a putting book that doesn’t talk about the stroke the whole time. I truly believe the best formula for making putts is to roll the ball on the correct line at the correct speed. Of the two elements speed is the most important. The other tangibles that go with it are to read greens correctly and to have confidence in your stroke and read. You seem to have touched on each one of the topics in depth. The object of putting is to putt the ball in the hole NOT to move the putter in a certain direction or a certain way. The added humor was a nice touch. Good luck with the publishing of the book and sign me up for a finished copy. Nice job. Michael B. Krick, Head Golf Professional Carolina Trace Country Club Sanford, North Carolina
