Queste raffinate quaranta meditazioni sulla Passione furono compilate da un’anonima devota della città di Lucca nel 1865. Siamo in un periodo intenso, in cui sorgono in questa città, anche se a diversi scaglioni, delle singolari figure come Gemma Galgani, Elena Guerra e Maria D. B. Barbantini. “Golgota” ci offre un cammino di vita, dal Getsemani giungendo al Calvario, che come nota Francesco di Sales, è il monte dell’amore. Il cammino si rivolge a tutti: laici, religiosi, di ogni età e condizione. È facile da leggere, difficile da meditare, perché porta l’uomo d’oggi ad una seria riflessione sulla Vita. Ogni tappa è accompagnata da una preghiera e da una considerazione.

Quest’opera vuole ricostruire quella che era una delle più antiche scienze dell’antichità, quella del Pensiero. Nous, noesi, nel linguaggio filosofico da Platone ad Husserl indica la più alta attività intellettuale dell’uomo, a toccare i limiti dello Spirito stesso. Il Nous è il protagonista di questo cammino filosofico: da Anassagora ad Aristotele, da Cartesio a Kant, da Hegel fino ad Heidegger, il Nous ricompare riconsiderato sempre in termini diversi. «Ora io sono una cosa vera e veramente esistente;» scrive Cartesio, «ma che cosa? L’ho detto: una cosa che pensa. Che cos’è una cosa che pensa? È una cosa che dubita, che intende che concepisce, che afferma, che nega, che vuole, che non vuole, che anche immagina e che sente» (Metit, II). Che cos’è una cosa che pensa? È questo è uno dei più grandi interrogativi dell’umanità ed a questa domanda, che assillava Cartesio vicino alla stufa, tenta di dare dei riscontri questo studio sulle nostre facoltà intellettuali. La risposta si trova paradossalmente proprio nella stufa: il Pensiero, come proferiva Eraclito, è Fuoco. Abbiamo così rieditato questa profonda ricerca, che era uscita nel 2014.

Antiche devozioni è una raccolta di preghiere, di inni sacri, di raccomandazioni spirituali, fervorini ed esercizi di pietà. Riproporre all’uomo d’oggi questi spunti di meditazione e di orazione, ci consente di recuperare quel remoto senso, sempre presente nella tradizione cristiana e cattolica, della pietà illuminata. Si tratta di un’antologia che raccoglie autori diversi in epoche più o meno vicine, tutti accomunati da questo senso intimo della pietas. “Antologia” significa scelta di fiori. E questo è appunto un mazzo di fiori antichi e sempre nuovi che si vuol offrire all’uomo attuale, sempre più distratto dall’ora fuggitiva della fretta telematica e virtuale, ma non sempre virtuosa. A proposito di fiori San Francesco di Sales ci ricorda: la Religione è come una campagna tutta tempestata di fiori gratissimi alla vista e di saluberrimo odore a tutti quelli che vogliono odorarli (Sermoni Familiari). E in Filotea: Glicera ingegnosa florivendola sapeva cambiare sì bene la disposizione e mescolanza dei fiori nei suoi mazzi che coi medesimi fiori faceva molti tra lor diversi mazzolini, tal che il pittore Parrasio, volendo a gara contraffare la diversità di tale opera ne rimase vinto, poiché non seppe in tante fogge variar la sua pittura, come faceva Glicera i suoi mazzi. Così noi abbiamo raccolto in questo campo della Religione dei fiori molto belli, predisposti in diverso modo per Antiche Devozioni- proprio come faceva Glicera -e ne abbiamo composto un bel mazzetto spirituale, tutto da odorare e da gustare.Trai fiori che sono avvinti in questo bel bouquet vi è un poeta di Monza, Deponti Paolo, di cui abbiamo il poema La Gerusalemme Conquistata, che non è riportato in questo libro.Antiche Devozioni vuole rappresentare un percorso spirituale - le opere infatti non sono state raccolte a caso - che parte dalla preghiera, passa attraverso l’effusione del canto, per giungere alla riflessione. Le riflessioni spirituali scelte sono brevi, concise, semplici ed erano state formulate apposta come accompagnamento alla preghiera per la pace interiore delle anime. A tal proposito abbiamo ripreso i Documenti et istruzioni per la tranquillità delle anime, tratti da Orazioni secrete della Santa Messa del 1796, proprio per richiamare all’attenzione quel tema forte del “De tranquillitateanimae” di memoria senecana, il cui alone avvolge anche la mistica cristiana. Speriamo con questa raccolta di aver offerto al lettore un cammino antico sì, ma sempre nuovo. Agostino esclamava: tardi ti amai, Bellezza così antica e così nuova, tardi ti amai! Più che mai l’uomo d’oggi ha bisogno di soffermarsi, riflettere, meditare e soprattutto pregare, anche se “tardi”! Così potremmo dire con parole proverbiali, non tanto Voxpopulivox Dei, ma “Voce dell’anima, voce di Dio”!Ore e ore, “Uomo del mio tempo” passi al cellulare! Eppure ogni anima si potrebbe paragonare ad un cellulare trasmittente e ricevente. Nella preghiera lanciamo a Dio i nostri messaggi, manifestandogli i nostri bisogni e tributandogli il culto dovuto. Dio risponde ai nostri messaggini parlando al nostro cuore, nelle piccolissime ore del silenzio, durante la preghiera, con le buone ispirazioni, con le grazie attuali e tanti altri doni. Beata quell’anima che riesce sempre a tenere il cellulare acceso ed a captare le onde delle trasmissioni divine!
