Steve Fist was the football hooligan's football hooligan and Bottle is his story, so it follows that he is now the ex-football hooligan turned writer's ex-football hooligan turned writer. Between the years 1975 and 1991, not one day went by when he didn't beat the absolute living crap out of at least one person for belonging to another team's firm, looking at him, thinking about looking at him, looking at his bird, thinking about looking at his bird, knocking over his pint or breathing. It's a story about the extreme end of extreme violence, but at the same time it's a tale about the worst excesses of brutality, sadism and senseless bloodshed. It's not for the faint-hearted or, indeed, the illiterate; in fact, it's not for anyone, really. Steve threatened the publishers with a sledge-hammer and, hey presto, the book got published, but then that's how Martin Amis started, allegedly, so who knows what it might lead to? The Booker? The Pulitzer? Or maybe even the Nobel Prize for Literature? One thing is for certain, though: it's a story that every youngster thinking about a career in violence should read or have read to them, because thinking you're hard is one thing, being hard is another, but writing a book about how hard you were - now that's hard.

About the Book Sean M. McWeeney has led an amazing life. Up by the Bootstraps outlines his life on the rough and tough West Side of Chicago, where he was unafraid of hard work or a good fight. He ran numbers, struggled, and triumphed through life’s twists and turns, to become the head of the FBI’s Organized Crime Section and later establish an international multi million-dollar corporation known for handling complex hostage and extortion negotiations for international corporations. This memoir reveals the inner workings of the FBI’s battle to bring down major mafia families’ organizations throughout the United States. And is an entertaining read of a life well lived by a colorful, gifted, and talented man who when given the choice at a young age between a life of crime or justice, chose justice. About the Author Sean M. McWeeney is a graduate of DePaul University in Chicago, with a bachelor's degree in commerce, where he was president of the senior class of 1961. He also received an MBA from the University of Rhode Island in 1964. McWeeney served as an officer in the US Navy from 1962 to 1965, attaining the rank of lieutenant. He went on to become an FBI agent from 1965 to 1988 and served as an Organized Crime supervisor in the New York office. His time in this office led to the arrest of Carlo Gambino, head of the infamous Gambino Mafia family. After retirement from the FBI, McWeeney founded an international security corporation, Corporate Risk International. Before the sale of the company, they went on to handle over six hundred kidnapping and extortion incidents over several years. McWeeney is married and has six children. His first wife Joan passed away in 2005. She played a substantial role in the success of both his careers.

THE INTER CITY JIBBERS. WHERE UNITED WENT, THEY FOLLOWED. MAYHEM WAS NEVER FAR BEHIND.The Inter City Jibbers were the most notorious Manchester United hooligan crew of the last thirty years, and Colin 'Beaner' Blaney was up to his neck in it. His years as an ICJ and Wide Awake Firm (WAF) footsoldier saw him blacklisted as an 'Undesirable' by Interpol for smuggling Ecstasy, tearing through gangland warfare with rival crooks, and carrying out daring jewellery thefts as far afield as Taiwan and South Korea.Spurred on by the overwhelming acclaim for his first book, Grafters, Blaney's latest account includes stories originally deemed too risky to tell. This shocking, searingly honest new work from the core of the Inter City Jibbers tells of four attempted jailbreaks, and describes members of the ICJ's experiences in numerous hellish overseas jails. These include the gang rape of one WAF member in a Pakistani prison, a brutal time spent in a county lock-up in Virginia and a stint in a Yakuza-filled Japanese jail, as well as run-ins with gun-wielding foreign thugs. Above all, this is a chronicle of twenty-five years of life as an Undesirable, stealing anything that wasn't nailed down.

The rise - and fall - of the outlaw lords of the drug world, from the Cali Cartel, the richest, most powerful crime syndicate in history, to Britain's biggest drug baron, Curtis 'Cocky' Warren and the 'Essex Triple Murders'. From freewheeling cannabis operations to the lethal 'heaviness' of organized crime, the doings of the dealers, bouncers, bagmen and 'taxmen' - those crazy enough to extort money from drug dealers - of a ruthlessly violent underworld. Here you will find an account of the pursuit and capture of 'Mr Nice', Howard Marks (along with the complementary recollections of Mrs Marks), the story of the hunt for Pablo Escobar and an in-depth piece on cocaine production deep in the Colombian interior. This is the no-holds-barred, inside story of drug trafficking, from the Golden Triangle to the Golden Gate and from Spain's Costa del Crime to the future of conflict and prohibition with its fresh cast of Afghan warlords and central European gangsters. It examines how and why things go wrong, and the price which is paid when they do.

Poverty to Paradise, by Rocky Mason is a story of courage, fear, deprivation and humour. There are times when you will laugh out loud and others when you will weep. It's the definitive autobiography of a man who has been there, done that and still proudly wears the T Shirt. It's an eventful life of tough childhood wartime experiences, a successful amateur boxing career of 69 straight wins in 87 fights only to move from "Gumshield to Greasepaint" and a life in showbiz working for the "Holiday Camp King," Billy Butlin. Drawing on a multitude of sources Rocky offers a compelling account of those six gruelling years 1939 - 45. Food shortages, conscientious objectors, head lice, visits of the nit-nurse, rationing, nightly air raids and his own personal experience of evacuation to an atrocious boys camp. During what was a 30 year association with Butlins, Rocky became a personal friend of almost every showbiz star in the country, many of whom have contributed to this book. .

Meet Micky Gluckstad. You'll like him. Bare-knuckle boxer, East End face, playboy and underworld 'corner merchant', Micky's conned money off the best of them - and he's got the scars to prove it. A happy-go-lucky conman who fleeced hundreds of thousands of pounds from the rich, the stupid, the crooked and the shameless, Micky's one of the nicest men you'll ever meet - unless you cross him. Then beware. There are properly hard men and there is Micky Gluckstad. Whether on the cobbles or in the ring, Micky beat them all. Roy 'Pretty Boy' Shaw, Donny 'The Bull' Adams and even Lenny McLean, The Guv'nor himself, fell before Micky's onslaught. He never started a fight, but he never walked away from one either and he hated bullies and braggarts. Reggie Kray said Micky could have been one of the boxing greats, but he never trained and fought for kicks and cash. Despite his incredible story, you won't catch him boasting about his exploits or cashing in as a rent-a-villain. Repeatedly accused of murder but never charged, shot, stabbed and glassed, beaten by the police and locked up in juvenile detention, borstal and prison, he came back laughing from everything the world threw at him.For the first time, Micky tells his explosive story - from his early days in the East End to the millionaire lifestyle his criminal activities afforded him. Micky earned, enjoyed and spent more than a million quid - but never regretted a single day.
