In The Fallen Elves, book three of The Second Neoluzian War epic fantasy series, the wicked Orc dictator Arkan Spiritstrike, his wizards and military generals are on the verge of laying waste to the elven cities of Balenwood and Oakmantle after destroying the human settlements in the northern lands. This is a time of desperation for the good races because Darius has been lost to lower Neoluzia due to the Gathering of Replenishment spell cast upon him by members of the secretive wizard guild, the Veiled Institution. David Parr, a human from Earth summoned by Darius that reluctantly remains in Neoluzia to assist the Salon of Enlightenment against their Orc enemies, must find the great necromancer Termaplix if the land is to be saved. Finding Termaplix may be impossible however, for the hero from the War of Cleansing has been hidden in a secret place due to unknown circumstances one thousand years ago--a tomb long since forgotten to the current generations in the land. Perilously stifled in their shift away from the old magic and the forced elimination of history, those that Parr seeks to help against the enemy from the north must first learn to embrace the gift of magic again, an art banished in antiquity by the deception of peace and the deep wounds of the surviving populations in the first war.

Acclaimed as a "gifted, courageous writer"(The New York Times), Chris Adrian brings all his extraordinary talents to bear in The Great Night—a brilliant and mesmerizing retelling of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." On Midsummer Eve 2008, three people, each on the run from a failed relationship, become trapped in San Francisco's Buena Vista Park, the secret home of Titania, Oberon, and their court. On this night, something awful is happening in the faerie kingdom: in a fit of sadness over the end of her marriage, which broke up in the wake of the death of her adopted son, Titania has set loose an ancient menace, and the chaos that ensues will threaten the lives of immortals and mortals alike. Selected by The New Yorker as one the best young writers in America, Adrian has created a singularly playful, heartbreaking, and humorous novel—a story that charts the borders between reality and dreams, love and magic, and mortality and immortality.

This all-naturalistic book is offered in response to a growing worldwide need for a new comprehensive alternative to Supernaturalistic Theism. Modern learning and recent religion inspired human world savagery have turned off more people than ever before, from the many traditional Supernaturalistic Theistic Religions. Worldwide, more than a billion people already share all-naturalistic world views and values, but many lack an adequate chart to help navigate the rough and uncertain waters of personal living existence. This book is an effort to provide information to help the interested naturalistic reader formulate such a chart, and in the process, also explain how and why everyone automatically and unconditionally lives forever by forever ongoing all-natural processes. The concept of all things by natural processes that is described and explained in this book, could give some people a whole new understanding of Reality, and change their lives for the better in important ways. And it might also inspire some people to more fully and enthusiastically participate in the celebration of life, and when their end times near, help them make their final peace with the darkness.

The Invention Of Satanism written by Asbjorn Dyrendal and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-10-30 with Religion categories.
Satanism is a complex phenomenon that has often been the source of controversy across social and rhetorical contexts. Some consider it the root of all evil. Others see it as a childish form of rebellion or as a misapplication of serious esoteric beliefs and practices. Still others consider it a specific religion or philosophy that serves as a form of personal and collective identity. In The Invention of Satanism, three experts explore Satanism as a contemporary movement that is in continuous dialogue with popular culture, and which provides a breeding ground for other new religious movements. By shifting the focus from mythology to meaning-making, this book examines the invention of Satanism among self-declared religious Satanists. Like all ideologists and believers, Satanists incorporate, borrow, and modify elements from other traditions; the authors investigate how traditional folklore and prior strands of occultism were synthesized by Anton LaVey in his founding of the Church of Satan and creation of the Satanic Bible. Later chapters discuss contemporary Satanist subcultures, demonstrating how Satanism continues to reinvent itself despite its brief history as an organized phenomenon. There are now numerous forms of Satanism with distinctive interpretations of what being a Satanist entails, with some of these new versions deviating more from the historical "mainstream" than others. In this fascinating account of a seemingly arcane and often-feared movement, Dyrendal, Lewis, and Petersen demonstrate that the invention of Satanism is an ongoing, ever-evolving process.

Despite the fascinating nature of religious Satanism, it has attracted little scholarship until relatively recently. This book brings together a group of international scholars to produce the first serious book-length study of religious Satanism, presenting a collection that will have wide appeal to specialists and non-specialists alike. The first part contains broader studies of influential groups and important aspects of the Satanic milieu, especially regarding historical developments, the construction of tradition and issues of legitimacy. The second part narrows the view to regional variations, especially with studies on Northern and Eastern Europe. The third part consists of primary documents selected for their representational and informational value.
