Have you ever felt confused and overwhelmed by untamable emotions? The emotions associated with grief, loss, and mourning can be very tangential. One minute you can feel grounded, and the next you can feel knocked down. The ebbs and flows of the process can make one feel unsteady. Carrie figured that because she had been exposed to some grief and loss situations during her childhood, this made her well prepared for loss going forward. Well, she was wrong! Carrie was also introduced to her faith in God, which became the impetus for her spiritual growth and well-being. As Carrie grew into an adult, she was able to recognize the intersection between grief and God's grace. She would go in to a helping field, where her grief skills would be further enhanced. Carrie felt sure that her work would help her cope better with experiences of loss moving forward. Even though Carrie had been exposed to grief and loss as early as the age of eight, she would learn that the loss of a very dear loved one to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) would send her on an unpredictable and turbulent journey of grief and despair. It was this particular death that shined a light on the various holes that punctured her toolbox. As a mental health professional, even she had to enlist in counseling services to further allow herself the vulnerability to move through this particular grief journey. Carrie would learn that even through pain and suffering, God would render his ultimate grace and healing through her grief journey. She also found deeper answers to these questions: Did you know that there is no universal template for grief? It is unpredictable. Did you know that there is no time schedule or limit for the grief process? It takes time. Did you know that news of a terminal illness such as ALS can cause one to grieve prior to one's death? Did you know that God's grace is sufficient and will help you during the turbulent times? Carrie S. Boone is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. She is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-C), therapist, and certified grief professional. She is a dedicated wife and mother to two beautiful children. Carrie is a proud graduate of the historic Morgan State University School of Social Work. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and crafting. Hidden Grace Growing Through Loss And Grief written by William L. Blevins and has been published by Balboa Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-11-26 with Self-Help categories.

Hidden Grace: Growing through Loss and Grief offers a hopeful model of bereavement for persons experiencing painful losses. Rather than viewing this universal human experience as an illness to be cured or sorrow to be tolerated, Blevins portrays grief as a holistic process that offers the possibility of personal transformation when life is shattered by a significant loss. Blevins draws upon his experience as a mental-health professional and university professor and the traumatic loss of his daughter. He affirms that while grief is agonizing, it is a normal and instinctive human response that can nurture personal growth and wholeness grounded in meditative spirituality. In this way, grief can become both gift and grace in responding to a significant loss, depending upon how one chooses to respond.

A Journey in Grief, Growth, Grace and Hope In October of 2013 an infant is diagnosed with the most common fatal disease of infants, Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1. The Halls are told their three-month-old daughter Heidi will lose all ability to move, then to swallow, then to breathe. Heidi is expected to die within about a year of her horrific diagnosis. Juncture at the Still Point is a mother's true story of her baby's terminal diagnosis and the family's scramble to get Heidi into a clinical trial. The book encompasses the difficulties of accepting a terminal diagnosis, daunting medical challenges, and the disability of an infant. It is also a mother's contemplation of grief, growth, and grace. Juncture at the Still Point illustrates the healing powers of literature, spirituality and writing. Finally, as Heidi responds to therapies and the clinical trial drug she receives, it is a journey toward hope in an incredible era of advancements in treatments for medical diseases. "an affective story, filled with bracing candor and elegantly expressed meditation. A profoundly touching remembrance about the transformative power of art and spirituality."--Kirkus Reviews "will appeal to readers who have personally experienced grief, medical challenges, the disability of a child, or have an interest in healing through literature and spirituality... Sandra Jung Hall has written a thoughtful and emotional true story that take the reader along on her family's journey of hope... Highly recommended "--The Columbia Review of Books and Film "Amid disaster and angst are insights on survival, growth, friendships, and more, though... life affirming revelations that make Juncture at the Still Point more than a story of a child's terrible health issues... a powerful, highly recommended read not just for parents struggling with child illness, disability and mortality, but for any who would think about the deeper meaning of life, death and the richness that lies between these juncture points."-- Diane Donovan, Senior Reviewer, Midwest Book Review

Until the end of time, when the curse of sin is finally removed, suffering will be a large part of the human experience and a large part of that suffering will be walking through the painful reality of death. 'Death,' writes Paul Tautges, 'provides a natural opportunity not only for ministry to others, but also for personal growth in ministers.' Those who shepherd others through the pain and loss that accompanies death should seek to offer wise and biblical counsel on these precious and painful occasions. This book is a treasure chest of pastoral theology that will equip you to reach out to those who grieve with the Christ-centered comfort of God rooted in the gospel. The theological foundation espoused here, as well as the numerous practical helps that are included, will help any servant of the Lord to point the hearts and minds of the bereaved to the 'man of sorrows' who is 'acquainted with grief' (Isaiah 53:3). The Practical Shepherding series of booklets provides pastors and ministry leaders with advice and practical help to do the work of pastoral ministry in a local church. In Comfort Those Who Grieve, experienced pastor Paul Tautges offers readers a guide to comforting those dealing with death through the hope of the gospel.
