Mit Ausnahme einiger solcher unwesentlicher Entlehnungen sind die Instrumenten-Zeichnungen fur unseren Zweck neu angefertigt worden. Wahrend unsere Sammlung schon fruher eine ziemliche Zahl von Reflexionsinstrumenten besass, die schon von Hunaus abgebildet sind, ist durch Neuanschaffungen (S. 161, 222, 230, 273) diese Gattung von Instrumenten nun so vollstandig vertreten wie wohl selten in einer anderen Sammlung oder in einem anderen Werke. Wir haben fur die Reflexions-Instrumente eine zusammenhangende und vollstandige Fehlertheorie entwickelt, an welcher es bisher ge­ fehlt hat. 1m Zusammenhang damit steht die Praxis und Theorie del' Messung und Reduction von Monddistanzen, welche in einzelnen Theilen eben­ falls von uns wei tel' entwickelt worden ist.
