En el presente trabajo se hace un estudio de la prevención de riesgos laborales en el sector agrario, incluyendo tanto los aspectos jurídicos como los principales factores de riesgo y las medidas preventivas para evitar dichos riesgos. La presente investigación empieza detallando cómo surgió la normativa de prevención de riesgos laborales en España y como con el paso del tiempo se incluyó al sector agrario, olvidado en un principio por el legislador. Posteriormente se hace una referencia a la legislación general y específica vigente en la materia y aplicable a dicho sector productivo, así como a la gestión preventiva en el mismo, recogiendo las obligaciones del empresario para con los trabajadores en el ámbito de su seguridad y salud. A lo largo del resto del trabajo se detallan los riesgos que entraña el sector agrario agrupados según sean biológicos, químicos, físicos, mecánicos, derivados de la carga de trabajo y psicosociales, junto con las medidas de prevención para cada uno de los tipo de riesgo. Se abordan más en profundidad los riesgos derivados de la maquinaria agrícola por tener una mayor importancia desde la revolución tecnológica en ese sector y ser la causa de muchos de los accidentes que ocurren hoy en día en el campo. Tras una breve referencia a las enfermedades profesionales más comunes que afectan al sector agrario y los factores de riesgo más habituales que causan estas enfermedades, concluye el trabajo con una mención a las actuaciones a seguir en caso de emergencia y primeros auxilios, incluyendo la descripción de cómo actuar ante algunos de los accidentes más típicos en el sector. Como colofón final se recoge el elenco de conclusiones alcanzadas (plenamente coherentes con lo indicado en los objetivos y metodología que se incorporan al principio del estudio) y de las fuentes consultadas.
