The digital storytelling project Humanizing Deportation invites migrants to present their own stories in the world’s largest and most diverse archive of its kind. Since 2017, more than 300 community storytellers have created their own audiovisual testimonial narratives, sharing their personal experiences of migration and repatriation. With Migrant Feelings, Migrant Knowledge, the project’s coordinator, Robert Irwin, and other team members introduce the project’s innovative participatory methodology, drawing out key issues regarding the human consequences of contemporary migration control regimes, as well as insights from migrants whose world-making endeavors may challenge what we think we know about migration. In recent decades, migrants in North America have been treated with unprecedented harshness. Migrant Feelings, Migrant Knowledge outlines this recent history, revealing stories both of grave injustice and of seemingly unsurmountable obstacles overcome. Nos ha adentrado a un mundo totalmente desconocido, ignorantes completamente de todo. Yo lo único que sabía, es que Dios estaba a mi lado y, que si Él estaba conmigo, me guiaría. Así que, confiando plenamente en Dios, acepté este viaje con rumbo incierto, desconociendo todo, confiando únicamente en Sus designios, sabiendo de antemano que Dios da y Dios quita, sabiendo de Su grandeza y Su magnificencia, aceptando lo que Él ya había decidido para mi vida, para la vida de Íngrid y la del resto de mi familia. Así que me tomé de Su mano fuertemente e inicié esta aventura en total incertidumbre. El primer paso fue llevarme a cursar la mejor universidad del mundo, que es la vida. Me especializó en la práctica cada día. En este curso intensivo aprendí desde la primera lección a escuchar con especial atención cada palabra. Puso delante a los mejores catedráticos de los cuales aprendí rápidamente, y pude dar uso a lo aprendido. Dios, en su infinita misericordia, te lleva por caminos inimaginables, donde puedes ser testigo de su amor y compasión. En todo el trayecto que hemos avanzado es visible su favor con nosotros. Cualquier proceso en la vida por más difícil que sea, Dios lo facilita. Cuando tus fuerzas son nulas, Dios te da esperanza para que no claudiques y puedas llegar a la meta. Entre más grande es la prueba, tu testimonio será sorprendente, porque Dios hace todo perfecto. Lo que Dios inicia jamás queda incompleto. Él hace posible el milagro de la vida en nosotros, y se manifiesta Su extraordinaria gloria El viaje ha sido difícil, doloroso y extenuante. Si hemos podido llegar hasta aquí, es por su amor y porque hemos puesto nuestra ciega confianza en Él. Sería imposible -para mí- no creer en los milagros de Dios; Íngrid es un milagro de vida.
