1982an HABEk, Eusko Jaurlaritzako erakunde autonomiadunak, helduentzako komiki aldizkari bat euskaraz argitaratzea erabaki zuen, Habeko Mik, euskalduntzeko tresna didaktikoa izan zedin eta euskal komikia sustatzeko. Habeko Mikek 55 zenbaki plazaratu zituen bi hilean behineko maiztasunez, eta 18 ale berezi, istorio osoak kontatzen zituzten albumak, hain zuzen ere. Erakundeen argitalpenetan aitzindaria izan zen ekimen honek 3.000 orrialde inguru eman zituen argitara eta gaur egun ere helduentzako euskal komikiaren historian multzorik garrantzitsuena eta esanguratsuena osatzen dute. Liburu honek argitalpenaren arrazoi pedagogikoak arakatu, historia editoriala azaldu, ezaugarriak deskribatu eta edukia aztertzen du, azken finean, Habeko Mikek euskararen pedagogiari eta euskal komikiaren historiari egin dion ekarpena ebaluatzen du. Juan Manuel Díaz de Guereñu Deustuko Unibertsitateko Komunikazio Saileko katedraduna da Donostiako campusean eta komikiari eta narrazio grafikoari buruzko eskolak ematen ditu bertan. Literatura garaikidearen inguruko ikerlanak argitaratu ditu eta, besteak beste, Juan Larrea, Luis A. Piñer, Gabriel Celaya, Fernando Aramburu eta Emilio Prados idazleen obrak prestatu ditu. Komikien kritikak egin ohi ditu Trama aldizkari espezializatuan eta beste argitalpen batzuetan.
