O sequestro internacional praticado por mães que fogem do país em que residem com seus filhos por causa da violência doméstica sofrida é hoje tema recorrente de discussão em processos judiciais, que visam decidir sobre o destino dessas crianças. Ocorre que a “Convenção de Haia sobre os Aspectos Civis do Sequestro Internacional de Crianças” é omissa sobre se o sequestro motivado pela violência deve ser tratado como causa de exceção à regra geral de retorno, gerando insegurança jurídica aos envolvidos e diferentes desfechos em casos semelhantes. Diante disso, buscou-se averiguar, no decorrer deste livro, como devem ser tratadas as exceções do diploma internacional a partir de uma investigação da jurisprudência brasileira e estrangeira, sugerindo um padrão a ser seguido pelos Tribunais pátrios. Para isso, perpassou-se pela análise do contexto geral em que a Convenção foi instituída e qual a importância conferida à época às questões de gênero e proteção da criança, e o que mudou até os dias atuais. Ademais, observou-se como o contexto de sua aplicação no Brasil ganhou outro caráter a partir da condenação do país pela violação dos direitos humanos das mulheres no plano internacional, resultando na criação da Lei Maria da Penha, o que repercutiu diretamente em uma mudança de concepção em relação ao texto da própria Convenção. O livro traz todas essas questões sob uma conotação prática, buscando oferecer caminhos para uma solução do problema enfrentado por tantos operadores do Direito: se e sob quais circunstâncias poderia a violência doméstica enquadrar-se como hipótese de exceção ao retorno da criança ao país de origem.

José de María Romero Barea (Córdoba, 1972) es profesor, poeta, narrador, traductor de poesía y periodista cultural. Como poeta, ha publicado Poesía (qué si no), cuya primera sección, El corazón el hueco, consta de la trilogía Resurrecciones (Asociación Cultura y Progreso, 2011), (mil novecientos setenta y) Dos (Ediciones en Huida, 2011) y Talismán (Anantes, 2012). Su poemario Un mínimo de racionalidad un máximo de esperanza está a punto de salir. Además, es autor de la serie experimental Interrupciones, que consta de cinco novelas en prosa poética, ambiciosas y a veces desconcertantes, pero siempre sorprendentes: Hilados Coreografiados (Ayuntamiento de Aguilar de la Frontera, 2012), Haia, Mitze Katze (inédita), Oblicuidades (inédita), y la quinta, en proceso de escritura. En ellas Romero Barea pretende explorar distintos registros narrativos sin perder las conexiones que las atan unas a otras: todas surgen de las coincidencias que sorprenden a los personajes en una Sevilla reconocible a la vez que surrealista, mágica y mítica, y concurren juntas en devolver un mismo recorrido sensorial por el desorden de la vida, en busca de su ordenación mediante la memoria o la escritura. En las páginas de Haia, Eric y Ruth, Haia, Anouk o Clara, Deseada, Alex y Polifemo, en perpetua metamorfosis, deambulan por la ciudad y se dejan sorprender por los recuerdos indivisibles de los de Romero Barea y por las emociones que sucesos aparentemente sin importancia desatan sin tregua. Poco a poco, el lector percibe que se va dibujando un paisaje mental: el flujo de conciencia desvela progresivamente el sentido final de la obra, que estriba en la imagen manifiesta de una armonía escondida detrás del caos, en una perfección que se intuye, aunque parece imposible de alcanzar. Al fin y al cabo, la escritura busca la verdad, el conocimien-to y el entendimiento: los personajes encuentran en ella una solución al ritmo frenético al que la sociedad actual los obliga; lo mismo que a ellos y a su autor, Haia devuelve a su lector la quietud meditativa que la vida le roba, ese instante secreto, armonioso y místico, tan personal como común, ya que brota de gestos sencillos que todos realizamos miles de veces, que cada ser humano necesita para juntar las teselas y recomponer el mosaico de sí mismo, de su identidad y de su felicidad.

Trigonopterus is a little known genus of weevils, containing hundreds of species, the majority of them without a scientific name. To describe this huge diversity using traditional approaches would take more than a lifetime, but there is no time to waste! Forests disappear for the sake of ever expanding agricultural landscapes, and good arguments are needed in the battle for the conservation of each hectare of primary forest. A species discovery and description pipeline is outlined to accelerate and improve taxonomy. It combines concise expert descriptions with DNA sequencing, digital imaging, and automated wiki species page creation from the journal. The concise descriptions providing a valid name can be gradually updated or modified in the fully versioned wiki-framework. A database of DNA sequences with an identification engine efficiently replaces an identification key, helps to avoid synonyms and has the potential to detect grossly incorrect generic placements. One hundred and one new species of Trigonopterus are described to demonstrate the feasibility of this approach, which increases not only speed, but also sustainability of global species inventories.
