Handbook Of Exact Solutions To The Nonlinear Schr Dinger Equations written by Usama Al Khawaja and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019 with SCIENCE categories.
This book collects all known solutions to the nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLSE) in one resource. In addition, the book organizes the solutions by classifying and grouping them based on aspects and symmetries they possess. Although most of the solutions presented in this book have been derived elsewhere using various methods, the authors present a systematic derivation of many solutions and even include new derivations. They have also presented symmetries and reductions that connect different solutions through transformations and enable classifying new solutions into known classes. For the user to verify that the presented solutions do satisfy the NLSE, this monumental work is accompanied by Mathematica Notebooks containing all solutions. This work also features a large number of figures, and animations are included to help visualize solutions and their dynamics.

The Handbook of Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations is the latest in a series of acclaimed handbooks by these authors and presents exact solutions of more than 1600 nonlinear equations encountered in science and engineering--many more than any other book available. The equations include those of parabolic, hyperbolic, elliptic and other types, and the authors pay special attention to equations of general form that involve arbitrary functions. A supplement at the end of the book discusses the classical and new methods for constructing exact solutions to nonlinear equations. To accommodate different mathematical backgrounds, the authors avoid wherever possible the use of special terminology, outline some of the methods in a schematic, simplified manner, and arrange the equations in increasing order of complexity. This reference book describes the exact solutions of the following types of mathematical equations: ● Algebraic and Transcendental Equations ● Ordinary Differential Equations ● Systems of Ordinary Differential Equations ● First-Order Partial Differential Equations ● Linear Equations and Problems of Mathematical Physics ● Nonlinear Equations of Mathematical Physics ● Systems of Partial Differential Equations ● Integral Equations ● Difference and Functional Equations ● Ordinary Functional Differential Equations ● Partial Functional Differential Equations The book delves into equations that find practical applications in a wide array of natural and engineering sciences, including the theory of heat and mass transfer, wave theory, hydrodynamics, gas dynamics, combustion theory, elasticity theory, general mechanics, theoretical physics, nonlinear optics, biology, chemical engineering sciences, ecology, and more. Most of these equations are of a reasonably general form and dependent on free parameters or arbitrary functions. The Handbook of Exact Solutions to Mathematical Equations generally has no analogs in world literature and contains a vast amount of new material. The exact solutions given in the book, being rigorous mathematical standards, can be used as test problems to assess the accuracy and verify the adequacy of various numerical and approximate analytical methods for solving mathematical equations, as well as to check and compare the effectiveness of exact analytical methods.

Separation Of Variables And Exact Solutions To Nonlinear Pdes written by Andrei D. Polyanin and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-09-20 with Mathematics categories.
Separation of Variables and Exact Solutions to Nonlinear PDEs is devoted to describing and applying methods of generalized and functional separation of variables used to find exact solutions of nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs). It also presents the direct method of symmetry reductions and its more general version. In addition, the authors describe the differential constraint method, which generalizes many other exact methods. The presentation involves numerous examples of utilizing the methods to find exact solutions to specific nonlinear equations of mathematical physics. The equations of heat and mass transfer, wave theory, hydrodynamics, nonlinear optics, combustion theory, chemical technology, biology, and other disciplines are studied. Particular attention is paid to nonlinear equations of a reasonably general form that depend on one or several arbitrary functions. Such equations are the most difficult to analyze. Their exact solutions are of significant practical interest, as they are suitable to assess the accuracy of various approximate analytical and numerical methods. The book contains new material previously unpublished in monographs. It is intended for a broad audience of scientists, engineers, instructors, and students specializing in applied and computational mathematics, theoretical physics, mechanics, control theory, chemical engineering science, and other disciplines. Individual sections of the book and examples are suitable for lecture courses on partial differential equations, equations of mathematical physics, and methods of mathematical physics, for delivering special courses and for practical training.

This textbook is aimed at newcomers to nonlinear dynamics and chaos, especially students taking a first course in the subject. The presentation stresses analytical methods, concrete examples, and geometric intuition. The theory is developed systematically, starting with first-order differential equations and their bifurcations, followed by phase plane analysis, limit cycles and their bifurcations, and culminating with the Lorenz equations, chaos, iterated maps, period doubling, renormalization, fractals, and strange attractors.

It is well known that symmetry-based methods are very powerful tools for investigating nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs), notably for their reduction to those of lower dimensionality (e.g. to ODEs) and constructing exact solutions. This book is devoted to (1) search Lie and conditional (non-classical) symmetries of nonlinear RDC equations, (2) constructing exact solutions using the symmetries obtained, and (3) their applications for solving some biologically and physically motivated problems. The book summarises the results derived by the authors during the last 10 years and those obtained by some other authors.

Nonlinear problems, originating from applied science that is closely related to practices, contain rich and extensive content. It makes the corresponding nonlinear models also complex and diverse. Due to the intricacy and contingency of nonlinear problems, unified mathematical methods still remain far and few between. In this regard, the comprehensive use of symmetric methods, along with other mathematical methods, becomes an effective option to solve nonlinear problems.

Physics is expressed in the language of mathematics; it is deeply ingrained in how physics is taught and how it's practiced. A study of the mathematics used in science is thus asound intellectual investment for training as scientists and engineers. This first volume of two is centered on methods of solving partial differential equations (PDEs) and the special functions introduced. Solving PDEs can't be done, however, outside of the context in which they apply to physical systems. The solutions to PDEs must conform to boundary conditions, a set of additional constraints in space or time to be satisfied at the boundaries of the system, that small part of the universe under study. The first volume is devoted to homogeneous boundary-value problems (BVPs), homogeneous implying a system lacking a forcing function, or source function. The second volume takes up (in addition to other topics) inhomogeneous problems where, in addition to the intrinsic PDE governing a physical field, source functions are an essential part of the system. This text is based on a course offered at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) and while produced for NPS needs, it will serve other universities well. It is based on the assumption that it follows a math review course, and was designed to coincide with the second quarter of student study, which is dominated by BVPs but also requires an understanding of special functions and Fourier analysis.
