Excerpt from Secretary's Second Report: Harvard College, Class of 1906 To the Members of the Class of 1906: Your Secretary presents to you in the following pages the Second Class Report, a book of which, you will at once observe, you are both the authors and the heroes, and the perusal of which you will therefore doubtless peculiarly and doubly enjoy. Realizing the pleasure of which the "lost men" and "those not heard from" are deprived in missing this opportunity to read accounts of themselves written by their favorite authors, you will, the Secretary ventures to hope, in accordance with the friendly spirit of our Class, send to the Secretary whatever information you may have which can help him to initiate them into these literary pleasures and to make the next Report more complete. The Secretary assumes the responsibility for those errors which have undoubtedly occurred and for which he apologizes, hoping that members of the Class will call them to his attention. For omissions, however, those of our classmates are responsible who have scorned or neglected the duties of autobiography. Following the precedent of other classes the Class employed the Harvard Alumni Association in the preparation of this Report. The thanks of the Class are due the Association for the untiring care and effort which it has bestowed upon the work. Excerpt from Secretary's Second Report: Harvard College Class of 1907 The scope of this report is small. Its purpose is simply to record the changes of occupation and address, the' mar riages and births, and the deaths which have occurred in the Class since graduation, three years ago. In a work of this kind, a few inaccuracies are inevitable, for which I ask your indulgence, with the assurance that I have spared no pains to minimize them. I am very grateful for the splendid co operation shown by the members of the Class in responding to requests for information. The fact that out of a Class as large as ours, only twelve men have not been heard from, is a record of which 1907 may well be proud. I have ventured, after much hesitation, to dedicate the report to Jack Morse. I am fully sensible of the unworthi ness of the ofiering, but perhaps this may serve until some more appropriate memorial can be provided, as a slight tribute on the part of the Class to the memory of a man whom we all loved and respected. The lateness of the Report is lamentable, and can only be excused on the grounds: that it was hoped that the contributions to the Class for the Triennial Celebration would be sufficient to cover the expenses of its preparation. Such, however, was not the case, and it was only by appealing to our ever-ready Class Treasurer that the necessary financial backing was found in the income of the Class Fund.
