All my books are available to read free online at WayneODonnell.com. “Freely you’ve received, freely give,” Mt. 10:8. This booklet is included in and comprises a section of my book “The Special Ministries of Women: Pro-Headcovering, Pro-Remarriage in 1 Corinthians 11, Song of Solomon, and Jesus' Teaching on Divorce.” The context indicates the 1 Corinthians 11a Headcovering is a church meeting observance, like the Lord’s Supper church meeting observance in the same chapter. The Headcovering observance symbolizes the church’s submission to God-ordained authority and gender roles, which have a huge impact on families, churches, and society. This booklet is intended to be both practical and polemical; for women, laymen, and theologians; and as a contribution to the battle of loving patriarchy against the increasing egalitarianism in modern societies which does so much harm to women. God uniquely created women for special ministries. These ministries include submission, modesty, quietness, affection, and chastity. Such service is like the precious ointment Mary of Bethany poured on the head and feet of Jesus. Women have performed some of the greatest spiritual works of all time. Only a woman believed Jesus when he said he was going to die, and she anointed him for his burial (Mt. 26:12-13). And only a woman was given the privilege, not merely of being the first to see Jesus after his resurrection, but of seeing him before he even ascended to the Father (Jn. 20:16-18). I think you’ll see from these chapters, that I strongly believe in “giving HONOR unto [woman], as unto the weaker vessel,” 1 Pet. 3:7. I also try to interpret the Bible according to “the law of kindness,” Prov. 31:26.

As Christians, we know we're supposed to be holy, set apart, and different than the world. But the reality is, the lives of many Christians look a lot more like the culture than like Christ. The question the devout are seeking today is, what does it really look like to follow Christ in a culture of darkness? In this short book, Dale Partridge assaults the watered-down, lukewarm Christianity that is harbored in many modern churches and replaces it with the raw, biblical Gospel found in the New Testament -- Amazon.

Among religious persuasions that have caused divisions in our Lords church, headship and womens religious head covering may be misconceptions of what the apostle Paul really meant to write. This book attempts to share a word study of 1 Corinthians 11 in the original language, and also share observations from a broader Bible view. What does the Bible really have to say on this controversial subject? The traditional interpretation of 1 Corinthians 11 lacks some answers. Herein are some Bible study observations that reveal new insight and deserve to be considered.

THIS SINGLE-PERSPECTIVE, ONENESS THEOLOGICAL Thesis was written with the sole intent of providing revelation, understanding, and clarity to all students of the Bible as well as to all disciples of Jesus Christ, with regard to an extremely misunderstood subject matter-the Head Covering. Now, in achieving this objective, I have chosen to utilize an in-depth approach of the Word of God, along with reliable non-Biblical sources. In short, I have provided several Scriptures that ought to aid in the attainment of complete understanding of this grossly misunderstood and "questionable" (to some Oneness organizations) subject matter. I would like to submit the following thesis as the central assertion of this theological paper: The doctrinal stand that the veil is the Head Covering, as adhered to by some Oneness Christian denominations, appears to be laden with numerous Scriptural inconsistencies, leading to, unfortunately stated, Logical Fallacy. Plainly stated, upon thorough and proper examination of Scripture, this non-Biblical viewpoint goes contrary to sound Biblical teaching. The general presupposition, then, rests solely upon the following Claim: What is presented to you within this Single-perspective, Oneness Theological Argument, not only offers the most complete explanation of the Head Covering, but it also provides the most solid Evidence as to why this Theological Argument is the best persuasive Oneness Christian Doctrinal viewpoint. In short, it presents a sound Biblical, theological, contextual, hermeneutical, exegetical, and historical presentation of the Head Covering! With this said, this Single-perspective, Oneness Theological Argument will be presented from a purely Apostolic Doctrinal perspective-God's perspective! Now, contrary to standard expository writing guidelines, it is my professional opinion that this has occurred due to a lack of Biblical understanding as well as faulty Biblical research on the part of our 20th & 21st-Century church patriarchs-causing, sadly enough, improper hermeneutics and exegesis of true Apostolic Doctrinal teaching regarding the Biblical Head Covering. With this said, I ask that you sincerely suspend your denominational bias (including your denominational tradition), personal opinion, as well as your theological philosophy and judge the following theological paper on the merits of the presented sound Biblical Argument. In addition, I trust that you will give due diligence to the study of this book, having a clear mind, a receptive heart, an aligned spirit, along with an open Bible! Finally, as you read through this Single-perspective, Oneness Theological Argument, I ask that you sincerely pray-seeking after The Wisdom of God-asking God to unveil (no pun intended) His Truth; to provide complete understanding of this profound subject matter; and, to reveal the spiritual significance of the hair of the woman as being the Biblical Head Covering, as is clearly described and unarguably affirmed within I Corinthians 11:1-16.

Have you ever wondered why Christian women, just two or three generations ago, often wore some type of covering on their heads while in church? -- And why men always took off their hats when it was time to pray? It is well-documented throughout Church history that the use of headcoverings was the norm for Christian women during times of prayer. Additionally, the widespread practice for Christian men -- since the beginning of the Church -- has been to remove their hats whenever they gathered for prayer. Among the churches in Western society, these practices have greatly declined (and often ceased) only within the last century. The Bible itself provided for the longevity of these symbolic actions. In the book of First Corinthians, the Apostle Paul explained the meaning of the unique practice of Christian headcovering. Countless pastors, theologians, and other Christians throughout history have studied (and written about) Paul's instructions about headcovering. "Headcovering Throughout Church History" provides an overview of the Church's response to 1 Corinthians 11:2-16 across the last 2000 years of Christianity. It features the writings of the Early Church, Augustine, Martin Luther, John Bunyan, Charles Spurgeon, and many others. It also documents contemporary theologians & denominations that endorse the Church's historical stand on this passage of Scripture. Now in Kindle format, this book contains the most comprehensive research currently available on the topic. Carefully referenced quotations allow you to hear from well over 50 theologians, pastors, and other Christian writers throughout Church history. __________________ = = Book Excerpts = = "A man ought not to have his head covered, since he is the image and glory of God. But the woman is the glory of man... Therefore the woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head... We have no other practice, nor have the churches of God." // The Apostle Paul, 1st Century AD “Indeed, the man's head ought not to be hidden, for the glory of God is seen in the man. A woman ought to cover her head in church out of reverence.” // Ambrosiaster, 4th Century AD "A woman praying in church without her head covered brings shame upon her head, according to the word of the Apostle... [and] the Apostle forbids men to pray in Church with covered head.” // Synod of Rome, 8th Century AD “It pertains to a man's dignity not to wear a covering on his head, to show that he is immediately subject to God; but the woman should wear a covering to show that besides God she is naturally subject to another.” // Thomas Aquinas, 13th Century AD “No man shall cover his head in the church or chapel.” // The Church of England, 17th Century AD “During my high school years, I never saw a woman in my mainline church whose head wasn't covered with a hat or a veil. That is one of those customs that has simply disappeared for the most part from Christian culture.” // R.C. Sproul (contemporary pastor & theologian) “It is only in the past three or four decades [since the 1960's] that its observance has slipped away — particularly in Western society.” // Mary Kassian (professor, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary)
