How would you define a hero?Would you define a person who rescued an entire village of souls and the love of her life from a demon a hero? What if she had unknowingly unleashed a darkness so powerful upon the Earth that even the angels of heaven wince at its power and destructive ways?Would you still call her a hero?***"I'm no hero." I whisper for what felt like the hundredth time. "I was just a girl desperate enough to get back home. To go back to normal. Whatever that is."I feel his presence grow closer and when I stare through my blurry eyes, I see it. His outstretched hand, holding the beautiful Flaming Sword, came into my view, the hilt extended for me to take."Then become desperate enough to save it."

Giller Prize-winner M.G. Vassanji’s The In-Between World of Vikram Lall is a haunting novel of corruption and regret that brings to life the complexity and turbulence of Kenyan society in the last five decades. Rich in sensuous detail and historical insight, this is a powerful story of passionate betrayals and political violence, racial tension and the strictures of tradition, told in elegant, assured prose. The novel begins in 1953, with eight-year-old Vikram Lall a witness to the celebrations around the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, just as the Mau Mau guerilla war for independence from Britain begins to gain strength. In a land torn apart by idealism, doubt, political upheaval and terrible acts of violence, Vic and his sister Deepa must find their place among a new generation. Neither colonists nor African, neither white nor black, the Indian brother and sister find themselves somewhere in between in their band of playmates: Bill and Annie, British children, and Njoroge, an African boy. These are the relationships that will shape the rest of their lives. We follow Vikram through the changes in East African society, the immense promise of the fifties and sixties. But when that hope is betrayed by the corruption and violence of the following decades, Vic is drawn into the Kenyatta government’s orbit of graft and power-broking. Njoroge, his childhood friend, can abandon neither the idealism of his youth nor his love for Vic’s sister Deepa. But neither the idealism of the one nor the passive cynicism of the other can avert the tragedies that await them. The In-Between World of Vikram Lall is a profound and careful examination of one man’s search for his place in the world, with themes that have run through Vassanji’s work: the nature of community in a volatile society, the relations between colony and colonizer, and the inescapable presence of the past. It is also, finally, a deeply personal book speaking to the people who are in the in-between.

Character Animation Before you animate the characters and objects in your scene, set up the scene by rigging all your characters and by applying the appropriate constraints and deformers to all the objects you want to animate. Rigging a character, also known as character setup, involves creating skeletons and IK handles for your characters, binding skins to the skeletons, and setting up deformers and constraints. You can also create deformers for your character and animate them to produce effects; for example, the jiggling belly (jiggle deformer), furrowing brow (wire deformer), and flexing biceps (lattice deformer) of a sumo wrestler model. Non-character objects are also very important to bringing your scene to life. You can limit and control the transformations of objects by constraining them to characters or other models in your scene. You can also create deformers for objects to create complex deformation effects. For example, you can apply a squash deformer to the model of a ball and then parent constrain the ball to the hands of a character. With this setup, you can key the weights of the character’s hands and the squash deformer’s attributes to create an animation of the character bouncing the ball from hand to hand while the ball squashes on the ground and stretches as it rises back into the air. In addition to setting up characters and objects for animation, you can set up Maya® Dynamics™ for animation. You can constrain dynamic objects such as particle emitters, fields, and fluids to objects or characters in your scene. For more information, see nDynamics Simulation Framework and Fluid Effects.

The In Between People written by Girma Bekele and has been published by Wipf and Stock Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-03-29 with Religion categories.

In the midst of partial, competing, and often hostile forms of human solidarity, David Bosch challenged the church to be the Alternative Community called to live in the in-between of various opposing socio-political, economic, and ecclesiastical polarities. Girma Bekele explores and renews that call in the context of Ethiopia. Acute poverty and the lingering question of the balance between ethnic distinctiveness and national unity, together constitute a two-edged challenge to Christian identity. Constructive dialogue that fosters unity is intrinsic to effective response to the plight of the poor. This means a turning away from institutional self-preservation towards a contextually relevant mission that crosses all human-made frontiers. Taking Ethiopia as the immediate context, Dr. Bekele offers important insight to the church in the majority world and beyond.

Meet Me In The In Between written by Bella Pollen and has been published by Open Road + Grove/Atlantic this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-06-19 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

A fashion designer turned writer details her bohemian life in this illustrated memoir—“Think Eat, Pray, Love . . . only cooler” (Marie Claire). Bella Pollen wants to feel like she belongs, but she never learned how. The middle child of transatlantic parents, she constantly moved back and forth between England and America, home and away, family and freedom. Now an adult, she struggles to contain an adventurous spirit within the confines of conventional living. In Meet Me in the In-Between, the international bestselling author takes us on an illustrated journey through her life, from her privileged childhood in Upper Manhattan through her marriage to the son of a Mafioso, to Mexican border towns where she falls in with a crowd of Pink Floyd–loving smugglers. Throughout all, Bella grapples with relationships, motherhood, career ups and downs, and a pathological fear of being boring. With a mix of humor and pain, this is “a poignant, beautifully written memoir” of one woman’s quest for the extraordinary in her ordinary life (The Mail on Sunday).

The breathless finale to the New York Times bestselling Rebel of the Sands series will have you on the edge of your seat until the dust from the final battle clears! When gunslinging Amani Al'Hiza escaped her dead-end town, she never imagined she'd join a revolution, let alone lead one. But after the bloodthirsty Sultan of Miraji imprisoned the Rebel Prince Ahmed in the mythical city of Eremot, she doesn't have a choice. Armed with only her revolver, her wits, and her untameable Demdji powers, Amani must rally her skeleton crew of rebels for a rescue mission through the unforgiving desert to a place that, according to maps, doesn't exist. As she watches those she loves most lay their lives on the line against ghouls and enemy soldiers, Amani questions whether she can be the leader they need or if she is leading them all to their deaths.

Your Immortal Reality written by Gary R. Renard and has been published by Hay House, Inc this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007-09-01 with Body, Mind & Spirit categories.

In this fascinating book, Gary Renard and his Ascended Master Teachers, Arten and Pursah, teach you how to integrate advanced spiritual principles into your everyday life. Doing so leads beyond theory to an experience of the Divine and the undoing of the ego. Your progress will be accelerated to such a degree that, with continued practice, you can’t help but stop the need to reincarnate . . . once and for all. Like Gary’s first book, The Disappearance of the Universe, this work elaborates on the teachings of two spiritual classics, The Gospel of Thomas and A Course in Miracles. By focusing on a unique brand of quantum forgiveness, rather than the old-fashioned kind, and taking the understanding of the importance of thought up to a whole new level, your goal will become nothing less than to break the cycle of birth and death.

What is perceived as hero and what people see as zero is purely relative. Herman thought that we was a zero when Zoe looked up at him as a hero. Hero start with the letter H, same as Herman; similarly Zero start with the letter Z, same as Zoe. The gap between those two letters describe how people moved from one status to the other.
