Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 2005 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Sonstiges, Note: 2,7, Technische Universität Chemnitz, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die allgemeine Vorstellung von Hexen beschränkt sich zumeist auf das sagenumwobene Bild einer alten Frau mit langer Nase, Buckel und Warzen, die kleine Kinder frisst und eine schwarze Katze hat. Aber auch die grausamen Zeiten der Hexenverfolgung, eine kollektive Hysterie, die sich um 1500 in ganz Europa ausbreitete und Tausenden von Frauen und Kindern, aber auch Männern und sogar schwarzen Katzen das Leben kostete, sind mit dem Begriff der Hexe unmittelbar verbunden. In meiner Diplomarbeit werde ich auf die Hintergründe des Hexentums eingehen und dessen Entwicklung von Beginn der Menschheit an bis hin zur Neuzeit betrachten. Ein Hauptaugenmerk werde ich dabei auf gesellschaftliche Umstände richten, die zu der jeweiligen Entwicklung, wie beispielsweise der Hexenverfolgung, führten. Im Rahmen meiner Diplomarbeit möchte ich möchte ich folgende Fragen beantworten: •Ist das Hexentum eine Religion? •Wie kam es zu dem dunklen Kapitel der Hexenverfolgungen? •Verschwand das Hexentum nach Ende der Hexenverfolgungen aus dem gesellschaftlichen Leben? •Wie kam es zu einer Wiederbelebung bzw. fand diese statt? •Warum ist das Hexentum heute wieder aktuell? Die Arbeit gliedert sich in drei Abschnitte: der I. Abschnitt (Kapitel 2 und 3) beschäftigt sich mit dem Grundlagen des Hexentums und den damit verbundenen magischen Praktiken, im II. Abschnitt (Kapitel 4 bis 6) durchleuchte ich den geschichtlichen Hintergrund der Hexenverfolgungen und die damit verbundenen gesellschaftlichen Ereignisse Abschnitt III (Kapitel 8) widmet sich dem modernen Hexentum. Bevor der zeitliche Ablauf der Entwicklungsstadien des Hexentum näher beleuchtet werden kann, müssen im zweiten Kapitel zunächst einige wichtige Begriffe, die in engem Zusammenhang mit der Thematik stehen, definiert werden. Im dritten Kapitel zeige ich den Begriff des Hexenglaubens und die damit verbunden Bräuche auf. Diese Feste werden von allen Menschen, die sich selbst mit dem Hexenglauben in Verbindung bringen, begangen und geehrt.
