A Educação Infantil ainda enfrenta um cenário de lutas para seu reconhecimento e efetivação. No que se refere à educação para as relações étnico-raciais, existem vários outros desdobramentos. Observa-se um contraste entre o cenário legal e a realidade social e escolar existentes. No entanto, o fato é que as leis já abrem espaço para visualizarmos possibilidade de educação antirracista e igualdade racial entre as crianças na escola. O que perguntamos, essencialmente, é: "Será que as escolas da infância cumprem com as exigências legais que amparam a educação antirracista?". Buscamos responder a essa e outras questões nesta obra. O presente texto está subdividido em seis capítulos. O primeiro, intitulado "Eu sou branca escura", é a apresentação da obra pela autora, que, com escrevivências, pontua delineamentos sobre a obra. O segundo capítulo analisa os direitos das crianças que frequentam a Educação Infantil em relação às questões étnico-raciais. O terceiro capítulo traz a trajetória metodológica para a realização das análises de dados da investigação. No quarto capítulo, as discussões escancaram os cenários da Educação Infantil brasileira, no que se refere à temática. O penúltimo capítulo tem o complexo desafio de trilhar caminhos e considerações a respeito da de(s)colonização dos currículos e contraestratégias de ensino. Por fim, a autora faz considerações a respeito da obra, do processo de elaboração e de encaminhamentos futuros da luta antirracista nas escolas.

W. E. B. Du Bois was a public intellectual, sociologist, and activist on behalf of the African American community. He profoundly shaped black political culture in the United States through his founding role in the NAACP, as well as internationally through the Pan-African movement.
