Si Lord Curzon reconoció que el Tratado de Versalles "no era un tratado de paz sino una ruptura de hostilidades", Ezra Pound se refirió a él desde Radio Roma con esta afirmación rotunda: "El verdadero crimen es acabar una guerra con el fin de hacer inevitable la próxima." Las pretensiones espectrales de lograr una paz sin vencedores ni vencidos, es decir, sobre la base del programa del presidente Wilson, no sólo se esfumaron dramáticamente en París, sino que se transformaron en unas condiciones humillantes que castigaban cruelmente al pueblo alemán. Lo asombroso, no obstante, es que se hubieran podido concebir esperanzas de una paz negociada después de haber asistido a la campaña antialemana fabricada en la prensa internacional y de haber constatado quiénes y de qué manera habían empujado a Estados Unidos a la guerra contra Alemania. Incluso Stalin declaró que el Tratado de Versalles fue "un dictado de odio y de latrocinio." En París se adoptó un sistema de funcionamiento estructurado en tres niveles. El primero de ellos era la conferencia pública, celebrada a la vista de todos, que se mostraba al enjambre de periodistas de todo el mundo que habían acudido para cubrir extensamente los actos y toda la parafernalia escenificada abiertamente. El segundo nivel eran las conferencias secretas de los presidentes aliados, los políticos cooptados, que se reunían privadamente y comparaban las notas y las instrucciones que les pasaban sus amos ocultos. El tercer nivel era el de las conferencias nocturnas de los líderes judíos y sus buenos masones, conocidas sólo por un grupo selecto de escogidos, en donde se discutían y tomaban las decisiones de la verdadera agenda.

AsI, pues, distintas fuerzas trabajaban para la guerra en el seno de los paIses europeos y conformaban un partido belicista transnacional que servIa intereses ajenos a los de sus naciones.

Nunca en la historia de la humanidad se había producido una circunstancia como la que estudiaremos en este capítulo: un hecho histórico se ha convertido en dogma de fe y no puede ser cuestionado por historiadores, científicos o investigadores de cualquier rama del saber. Dos historiadores judíos, Pierre Vidal-Naquet y Léon Poliakov, firmaron la declaración de fe que se ha impuesto universalmente. En ella decían: "No es preciso preguntarse cómo ha sido posible técnicamente tal muerte en masa. Ha sido posible porque ha tenido lugar. Este es el punto de partida obligatorio de cualquier investigación histórica sobre el particular. Esta verdad es la que nos corresponde recordar simplemente. No puede debatirse la existencia de las cámaras de gas." En la actualidad, poner en duda toda la parafernalia que envuelve el mito del Holocausto constituye un crimen de pensamiento y se ha convertido en un delito tipificado en los códigos penales de numerosos países. Los revisionistas vienen siendo perseguidos y condenados con años de cárcel por odio racial o antisemitismo. Los medios de comunicación los rechazan y sus trabajos no merecen ninguna atención, pues se considera que carecen del menor interés y no deben ser difundidos. Naturalmente, si los argumentos y las tesis del revisionismo fueran panfletos carentes del menor rigor, podría aceptarse el desinterés general por sus planteamientos; pero no es el caso, sino todo lo contrario. Los trabajos presentados abarcan los diferentes aspectos relacionados con el supuesto exterminio de seis millones de judíos y son extremadamente convincentes. Cualquier lector interesado en descubrir la verdad histórica hallará en las obras de los revisionistas cuánto puede exigirse a un investigador riguroso. Pese a ello, el número de países occidentales supuestamente democráticos que promulgan leyes que atentan contra la libertad de pensamiento y de expresión en relación con el Holocausto aumenta año tras año. Hoy estos países son: Alemania, Austria, Bélgica, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Canadá, República Checa, España, Francia, Holanda, Hungría, Liechtenstein, Luxemburgo, Polonia, Portugal, Rumanía y Suiza.

Nonetheless, there has been little attempt to catalog this material. Hewitt (Spanish and Portuguese, Pennsylvania State U.) explores the representation of Africa and "Afro-Caribbean-ness" in Spanish Caribbean literature of the 20th century. Her main argument "is that the literary representation of Africa and "Africanness," meaning practices, belief systems, music, art, myths, popular knowledge, in Spanish-speaking Caribbean societies, constructs a self-referential discourse in which Africa and African "things" shift to a Caribbean landscape as the site of the (M)Other." Or, in other words, these representations imaginatively rescue and simultaneously construct a "Caribbean cultural imaginary conceived as the Other within that associates Africa with a cultural womb." Among the texts she explores are Fernando Ortiz's interpretations of the "Black Carnival" in Cuba, the early Afro-Cuban poems of Alejo Carpentier, the Afro-Cuban stories of Lydia Cabrera, a number of literary representations of the figure of the runaway slave, and two works by Puerto Rican novelist Edgardo Rodiguez Julia.

El tErmino revoluciOn es otra de esas palabras cuyas connotaciones son positivas y por ello goza de un prestigio generalmente admitido. QuiEn no ha pensado alguna vez que hace falta una revoluciOn que cambie todo? La historia enseNa a los estudiantes que las revoluciones suceden porque el pueblo, harto de sufrimientos y arbitrariedades, se levanta contra una serie de hechos o cosas inadmisibles que provocan la revoluciOn. No importa cuAntos crImenes hayan tenido que cometer los revolucionarios para conseguir sus objetivos: el fin justificarA los medios. La historia explica que tras las revoluciones se consigue instaurar un nuevo orden que acaba con la injusticia anterior y que constituye un avance hacia la libertad, la democracia o la independencia. Como hemos visto en el caso de la revoluciOn inglesa, las cosas no son a veces lo que aparentan. Los procesos revolucionarios necesitan agentes, organizaciOn y, sobre todo, financiaciOn, dinero. Se verA en su momento que el ejemplo paradigmAtico lo constituye la RevoluciOn Bolchevique, financiada por banqueros judIos de Wall Street. Sin embargo, la izquierda internacional es incapaz de vislumbrar la verdad. Marx, Trotsky, Lenin siguen siendo para -progresistas- de todo el mundo santones intocables, benefactores de la humanidad. No obstante, Trotsky (Bronstein) fue un agente del banquero sionista Jacob Schiff, quien declarO orgulloso en pUblico que gracias a su ayuda financiera la revoluciOn habIa tenido Exito. Max Warburg, otro banquero sionista, el 21 de septiembre de 1917 abriO por cable desde Hamburgo una cuenta en el Nya Banken de Estocolmo (banco de los Rothschild) a nombre de Trotsky. Puerto Rican Labor History 1898–1934 presents a history of the organized labor movement in Puerto Rico from the United States’ colonial domination of the island in 1898 to the Great Depression in the early 1930s. Although the most prominent Puerto Rican labor leaders in the early twentieth century were strongly influenced by revolutionary European socialist and anarchist ideology, the organized labor movement as represented by the Federación Libre de los Trabajadores de Puerto Rico and the Partido Socialista became a fundamentally reformist trade unionist campaign that relied heavily on the democratic rights guaranteed by the United States government and the support of the American Federation of Labor. Rather than advocating for the overthrow of capitalism, the abolition of private property and the wage labor system, and its replacement by a socialist egalitarian cooperative society free of centralized government authority, the organized workers’ movement focused on the immediate struggle for higher wages and better working conditions by means of the organization of labor and participation in electoral politics.
