D., will deal principally with the third generation of the descendants of Jacob Shimer, Ist, and, a genealogy in tabulated form of the descendants of Michael Shimer, who came to America in 1749, and Samuel Shimer, son of Jacob, Ist, of whom we had no record when the first volume was issued. The work continues to be both fascinating and interesting. New discoveries are being made continually. It was fortunate that we did not attempt to have the work completed in the one volume of 1908, as much would have been lost.
