Damals sind die beiden Freunde nicht nur über 600 km (in neun Tagen) von Bochum nach München für ihren Verein, den VfL Bochum, gelaufen. Doch damit nicht genug: Sie haben die glühende Wüste beim härtesten Rennen der Welt, dem "Marathon des Sables" durchquert oder ertrugen die "Tortour de Ruhr", zehn Marathonläufe an zehn aufeinander folgenden Tagen. Dabei wurden sie selbst zu Berühmtheiten und von den Medien gefeiert. Die Außergewöhnlichkeit ihrer Aktionen, der Spaß, den beide stets nach Außen hin präsentieren und die Idee der "Marathonspende" machten nicht nur viele Printmedien und Fernsehsender, sondern auch den Star-Tenor José Carreras auf sie aufmerksam. Der "100 Stunden für Carreras" - Lauf im Dezember 2004 sorgte für Aufsehen und war der bisherige Höhepunkt ihres atemberaubenden Läufer-Lebens. In diesem Buch werden in einem Mix aus Marathon-Story und ganz persönlicher Lebensgeschichte die letzten drei bewegenden Jahre mit ihren spektakulären Lauf-Aktionen und den vielen lustigen und nachdenklich stimmenden Anekdoten noch einmal spannend aufbereitet. Im zweiten Teil dieses Buches finden sich praktische und nützliche Marathon-Tipps für Einsteiger und Fortgeschrittene. Der Autor: Ben Redelings, Jahrgang 1975, ist freier Autor und Filmemacher. Er studierte Deutsch, Sozialwissenschaften und Niederländisch in Bochum und Amsterdam. 2004 erschien seine Dokumentation "Wer braucht schon ein Sektfrühstück bei Real Madrid. Ein Film über die Fans des VfL Bochum". Parallel zu diesem Buch wird eine DVD-Dokumentation unter dem Titel "100 Stunden nonstop" bei Baukau Media veröffentlicht. The Munich/Germany born artist Claudia Chaseling (maiden name: Pötzsch) studied at the Art Academies in Munich and Vienna as well as at the University of Arts in Berlin, where she graduated in 2000 in Prof. Marwan?s master class. In 2003 she graduated as Master of Visual Arts at the School of Arts of the Australian National University in Canberra, made possible by a scholarship of DAAD. There she is earning a doctorate since 2013.
