The Commander’s Bodyguard is Shannon McGilverry, a crack NCIS agent assigned to protect Navy JAG Officer Zack Brewer. Zack is being hunted by terrorists, stalked by a psychopath, and is working his way through a perilous, politically-charged trial. When another Navy JAG officer is murdered, it’s clear that Zack is in harm’s way. As his bodyguard, Shannon must do more than protect Zack. She also must set aside her growing feelings for the brilliant attorney and investigate rumors that the love of his life, Diane Colcerninan, may still be alive. Zack finds himself in need of his faith more than ever as Navy SEALS launch a daring rescue attempt that has the potential to trigger World War III.

"Defiant Honor 1864 completes the three-book Civil War series about Captain John McBee and the 5th Texas Infantry Regiment in the Texas Brigade of Lee's Army of Northern Virginia. By the spring of 1864, the war is slipping away from General Lee. Grant is moving towards Richmond with a huge army. In May, newly promoted Major John McBee and the 5th Texas Infantry enter the battle at the Wilderness under the eyes of General Lee. By June, the siege of Richmond and Petersburg has begun. The 22nd Regiment of US Colored Troops earn their first battle honors. The town of Lexington is occupied by Union soldiers, and the campus of the Virginia Military Institute is shelled by Federal artillery, then sacked by Union soldiers. Faith McBee is hunted as a Confederate spy. The occupation ends, but the pursuit of Faith McBee brings armed Union soldiers into the McBee home in the dead of night. The summer winds down, and the soldiers of the 5th Texas endure the heat, filth, and constant danger of trench warfare around Richmond. Major McBee reluctantly again accepts a clandestine errand for Confederate Secretary of State Judah Benjamin. In late September, the 5th Texas and the 22nd Regiment of US Colored Troops battle over the earthworks at New Market Heights. Levi must decide whether or not to fight against other black men. John McBee and Faith's first husband, Lieutenant Adam Samuelson, now an officer in the 22nd USCT, slash their way through their inevitable violent confrontation. In October, the surviving 5th Texas soldiers make their last charge at Darbytown Road, a bloody final zenith for the Texas Brigade, Lee's Grenadier Guards. The mission for Secretary of State Benjamin stretches into November, and sets the McBee family on paths they will walk after the war."--Amazon.

It is difficult to understand a culture where marriages arranged by fathers and a woman's desire to choose her own husband is viewed as a gross act of defiance that damages the honor of the men who negotiated the agreement. It is even more astonishing if the woman is educated, independent, and beautiful. But this is Ciudad Jurez, Chihuahua, Mxico in 1947. The destined marital union in this story precariously has to contend with learning how to love the other with the expectation that it will evolve into a firm lifelong relationship while struggling with where their hearts truly lie. Family Honor is the story of Marta Ortega a twenty four year old executive secretary working in the City Hall offices of Ciudad Jurez, Mexico. She is forced into an arranged marriage or opt to elope for love. Her betrothed, a Big Band musician, is from a highly respected and wealthy family who if she marries would bring honor in the conjoining of two great families. However, her love is Eugenio Ramirez the citys young Chief of Police who is challenged with fighting organized crime and a futile drug war where he is law enforcer, judge, jury and self-appointed executioner of these malcontents. Based on a true life story and due to the nature of some of the events, liberties have been taken for effect. Real names have been changed to protect the privacy of those involved.

In 1835, a petition for land far from Santa Fe, New Mexico was awarded to pobladores (settlers) willing to relocate to the eastern edge of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Founded along the Gallinas River, the settlement became the Las Vegas Land Grant. The history of this grant is the history of New Mexico. On this 496,000 acre community grant, beliefs about land and faith were intertwined within a system of shared sacredness. In the 1890s, Anglo-American merchants and cattlemen joined with Hispano elites in the first concerted effort to wrest control of this grant from its original owners and heirs. The heart of this book investigates how a rural nuevo-mexicano (New Mexican) movement on the Las Vegas Land Grant evolved from burning barns and cutting fences to political activism and success at the ballot box. It also examines the history of New Mexico land grants, Hispano mountain culture, the origination of the town footprint, the boom of Territorial Las Vegas, and the cultural diversity that existed within the two distinct towns that emerged when the railroad came to Las Vegas in 1879. Honor and Defiance details the impact of American expansion into a well-established Hispano urban center, and highlights the robust nature of nuevo-mexicano spirit, determination, and ingenuity on the Las Vegas Land Grant. The book also includes photographs of Las Vegas, leaders of the period, and the land they fought for.

In September 1939, life changed for everyone in England, and Roger Whitehead was no exception. And hours after war was declared with Germany, Roger's family erupted when he announced he had no intention of joining the military. Labeled a coward, he disappeared, leaving a short note and a postal box, where he could be contacted. Why did he refuse to fight? Was his defiance a camouflage for cowardice? Having signed a secrecy oath forbidding his disclosure of his whereabouts or his work, he joined the fight for England in the secret world of Bletchley Park. There he decoded secret communiqués sent by enemies of his country. Over time, his proficiency brought him an unorthodox assignment: to go underground in order to discover a dangerous mole undermining the critical work of so many radio operators located in England and abroad. Join Roger as he navigates through a world gone mad when, by chance, a stranger gives him a New Testament with the challenge to "find the Man behind the words." Enter the dark world of deceit and intrigue, suspicion and subterfuge, sabotage and subversion. Travel with Roger in his quest for truth and internal peace through love and loss. Discover how a secret love affair changes his life forever and how his search for honor reveals the Savior of the world.
