CD-ROM; Formato del archivo: PDF Resumen: La Tesis “Cultura, Periodismo y Transición democrática en Almería (1973-1986)”, bajo la dirección y supervisión del profesor Fernando Martínez López (catedrático de Historia Contemporánea, Universidad de Almería), parte del hecho de los grandes cambios en la sociedad almeriense, en busca de respuestas a una serie de interrogantes: ¿Cultura, Política y Sociedad se interrelacionan, desde el periodismo, de manera firme para explicar el cambio democrático? ¿El protagonismo universitario e intelectual, de los trabajadores, del movimiento vecinal, se desarrolla desde una sola realidad y aporta una dimensión explícita a la cuestión cultural? ¿Se diferencia la imagen de los medios periodísticos de la que proyectan periodistas, desde una concepción de compromiso cuando el periodismo deja de ser neutral? Cultura, Política y Periodismo son instrumentos claves para interpretar el proceso, en Almería, de Transición a la democracia y, por consiguiente, para establecer las bases de la consolidación de una opinión pública y de grandes cambios en la realidad social. El mundo de la información/comunicación destapa una identidad emergente que profundiza en el análisis interpretativo de los hechos que se suceden con el proceso democrático, el pensamiento crítico impone la necesidad de abordar los cambios contra el sistema agonizante del franquismo y para garantizar que ya no hay marcha atrás. En este proceso, los partidos políticos y la memoria histórica, la vida política y cultural constituyen instrumentos protagonistas que explican gran parte de los cambios sociales, toma de conciencia y construcción social. La información es el principal trampolín de difusión cultural, social y política, promoviendo un reto frente la censura desde la exigencia de la libertad de expresión y el derecho a la información. La Tesis está organizada en varios bloques/capítulos, En la “Introducción” se estudia las relaciones entre Historia y Cultura. El primer capítulo, está dedicado a desarrollar el proceso de la Cultura autoritaria en el tardo-franquismo, con dos capítulos diferenciados. Un estudio se centra en el “Momento histórico de Almería”, dominado culturalmente por el Movimiento Indaliano. Este capítulo aporta el análisis sobre instrumentos que ayudan a configurar una conciencia crítica contra el sistema: Cine-Club Oseyda, Festival de Cine Alternativo, una nueva dimensión del flamenco, Festival de Teatro de El Ejido, el Teleclub-piloto San Fernando en Almería. La segunda parte, del primer capítulo, estudia el proceso de “La resistencia cultural”, desde los rasgos de transformación social de Almería, con el análisis del renacer político con nuevos protagonistas: La contestación universitaria, los cantautores, Congreso de escritores en Albox, Manifestación Cultural Andaluza en Adra, Homenaje a García Lorca en Berja, Homenaje a Javier Verdejo y el refugio cultural de las librerías con Picasso, Goya y Cajal. El segundo capítulo aborda el análisis de la “Cultura Democrática”. Una reflexión/síntesis sobre el compromiso de la cultura, partiendo desde distintas propuestas periodísticas. El análisis pasa por la incidencia del Ateneo, el protagonismo reivindicativo de la Mujer, la irrupción del discurso ecologista, el nacimiento del Instituto de Estudios Almerienses, el espacio cultural del cine y la fotografía, la joven literatura emergente, el debate de las artes plásticas, la presencia de Juan Goytisolo y José Ángel Valente y la asamblea de la Juventud “Conexión 86”. El tercer capítulo, “La clave cultural de los medios de comunicación”, aborda cómo el debate cultural adquiere la oportunidad de llegar a la realidad social a través de los medios de comunicación, como la vía que hace posible la propagación de las nuevas ideas y del pensamiento crítico. El estudio se desarrolla en los apartados: el medio radiofónico, la prensa diaria, revistas de información general y revistas culturales. El capítulo cuarto aborda las Conclusiones. Se aportan ideas sobre las respuestas a los interrogantes planteados en torno al proceso de Transición en Almería, el debate cultural y el significado que alcanzan los nuevos modelos renovados de los medios de comunicación y de los periodistas. La Transición democrática no se entiende sin el papel jugado por la prensa y la radio. La información/comunicación se convierte en una cuestión clave para la propagación de las ideas que impulsan el cambio social y político. Y una nueva generación de periodistas impone también su compromiso personal de una información abierta, junto a las directrices de las empresas periodísticas, renovadas también al amparo de la transformación democrática.

Walter of Châtillon’s Latin epic on the life of Alexander the Great was a twelfth- and thirteenth-century “best-seller:” scribes produced over two hundred manuscripts. The poem follows Alexander from his first successes in Asia Minor, through his conquest of Persia and India, to his progressive moral degeneration and his poisoning by a disaffected lieutenant.
