Huellas de mi caminar, es una experiencia vivida y que hace fluir nuestra mente, para interpretarla a través de nuestras emociones y sentido intenso, que permite recordarlo con la esperanza de que todos tengamos igualdad de condición al emprender nuestro camino. Es un relato del caminar de un soñador, quien solamente anhelaba “estudiar” para llegar a ser alguien en la vida y ayudar a su familia. El protagonista con sus múltiples situaciones vividas, y que a su corta edad iba hilvanando su crecimiento y desarrollo a base de experiencias dolorosas y negativas, que lo llevan a vivir situaciones extremas que hacen germinar en aquel soñador la fortaleza, la humildad y la esperanza de mejorar su situación, características que predominan en su interior a pesar de la mirada triste y vocablo comedido. En ocasiones cautivo de su propio diario vivir, solo contra el mundo, y avasallado por la situación de soledad y pobreza que lo rodea, nuestro relato nos lleva a reflexionar por un lado, la presencia de Dios en nuestras vidas, y muestra con claridad las directrices para nuestro caminar, y aunque no logremos lo que nos planteamos, nos lleva de su mano hacia lo que necesitamos para nuestro bien y de su gloria. Y por el otro lado, nos enseña, que en el mundo hay muchas personas que aunque no nos conozcan, son capaces de aportar en todos los aspectos de la vida, porque creen en ti y en que siempre habrá un mejor mañana para todos. Esta narración, nos invita a caminar más despacio por la vida, y que no solo basta con mirar, si no la necesidad de ver a nuestro alrededor, siempre hay alguien que necesita una ayuda. De seguro, hoy no serás tú, pero siempre habrá otros.

En su discurso de ingreso a El Colegio Nacional, Felipe Leal se remonta a los orígenes de la arquitectura —“testigo insobornable de la historia”, según Octavio Paz— y señala su importancia como hecho cultural, fundamental en la organización de las sociedades. Partiendo de la premisa de que la arquitectura “está hecha para celebrar el arte de vivir”, Leal expone los retos que enfrenta esta disciplina en el mundo posmoderno, en el cual solo veinticinco por ciento de la humanidad vive en condiciones aceptables. Felipe Leal dedica buena parte de su discurso al caso de la Ciudad de México. Trata conceptos como zonificación, ciudad compacta, economía circular, ciudad de los quince minutos, área del kilómetro, etc., para exponer cómo la arquitectura se ha ido repensando con el fin de responder a las necesidades de las sociedades contemporáneas. Finalmente, plantea la necesidad de construir una ética para el habitar y propone diversas soluciones para combatir la crisis que vive la metrópoli en esta materia. En su respuesta al discurso de Leal, Juan Villoro afirma: “habitamos un espacio inconmensurable que Leal se ha propuesto entender. […] Imitación de las galaxias, la Ciudad de México requiere de un urbanismo casi digno de la astronomía”. El discurso de Felipe Leal evidencia que, tras la pandemia de covid, ni la arquitectura ni las ciudades pueden concebirse de la misma manera.

This glossary has been prepared in order to leave a record of the Quechua spoken by the people of Huarás and surrounding areas in the mid-20th century. Huarás, capital of the Region (Department) of Ancash, Peru, has a distinct form of Quechua. That dialect was endangered due to a massive earthquake on May 31, 1970. Tens of thousands of people died, and the city was destroyed. Many of the survivors left the area. Once rebuilt, Huarás was repopulated with people new to the area who use Spanish or a different dialect to communicate. Since then, technological influences such as the Internet also reinforce the use of Spanish, to the detriment of the local Quechua. Born in Huarás, I was raised in a bilingual environment, Spanish and Quechua. Although I left the area to attend the university, I could always feel at home upon returning, until that earthquake. Since then it seems strange to return to an unfamiliar city, due to people, language and environment. I hope this glossary will help the newer generations better understand, not only their grandparents and ancestors, but the culture from which they come. Language and culture are intimately tied, and much more than words is lost when a language dies. The Inca Empire (Tahuantinsuyo) was invaded by Spain in 1532. At that time Quechua was spoken, never written, throughout the Inca civilization, with many dialects. Since then, the Spanish language has been imposed, but in Huarás never did it replace Quechua to the extent that it did in 1970. This glossary contains words, several verb forms, and phrases. It is written with the expectation that it may help to preserve the inherited Quechua, so that Huarás may remain bilingual. It is written for huarasinos, the people of Huarás. If others find it useful, better yet. The glossary is in Quechua. To facilitate access to the Quechua, indices in Spanish and in English are included. M. Mosquera
