ZEE merupakan perkembangan hukum internasional dalam rangka mengatur kelautan yang berkaitan dengan pemanfaatan ekonomis sumber daya hayati khususnya sumber daya ikan bagi kemakmuran rakyat negara pantai dan kepentingan negara lain yang terkait, dengan tetap memerha-tikan faktor pelestarian dan keberlanjutannya. Pemanfaatan sumber daya ikan di ZEE Indonesia bagi kesejahteraan rakyat Indonesia, mengharuskan Indonesia untuk memanfaatkan sumber daya ikan secara optimal dan berkelanjutan, tanpa mengesampingkan kepentingan negara lain. Hal ini menyebabkan Indonesia harus segera berbenah dan menyelaraskan aturan-aturan terkait. Buku ini mencoba menganalisis hak, kewajiban, dan kewenangan yang dimiliki oleh Indone-sia terkait dengan pemanfaatan sumber daya ikan di ZEE Indonesia bagi kesejahteraan rakyatnya, dan pemanfaatan surplus oleh negara lain.
