This unique compendium deals with modeling magnetic media exhibiting hysteresis using computationally efficient phenomenological models that may be utilized in a wide spectrum of both coupled and non-coupled situations. The main factors affecting the behavior of media exhibiting hysteresis — such as magnetic field, mechanical stress and temperature — are dealt with from a higher-level perspective. The volume offers a brief review of well-established definitions of the hysteresis phenomena and widely utilized models. It then presents in its separate chapters a set of innovative efficient multi-component hysteresis models, some of which involves novel operators and/or neural network activation functions as primitive building blocks. Identification methodologies, simulations and experimental verifications for the presented models are also prominently highlighted. This useful reference text offers a great resource material for academics, professionals, researchers and graduate students in electrical and electronic engineering, superconductivity, magnetic materials and mechanical engineering.

The need for a component capable of simulating semi-permanent changes in biological neurons, suitable for inclusion in brain models, and in perceptrons in particular, is discussed. Various devices intended for this purpose are reviewedAND EVALUATED. A novel method of flux integration, using a permalloy wire as the flux storing medium, and the voltage induced in a search coil as the result of magnetostriction in the wire for readout, is described in detail. The design procedure for the complete memory of an audio-perceptron, Tobermory, based on the magnetostrictive readout integrator, is oulined. Modifications in the integrator, intended to render it suitable for larger and topologically more sophisticated models, are anticipated. (Author).

The Memory System Of The Brain written by Jean Delacour and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1994 with Medical categories.

The purpose of this book is to describe the memory system of the brain, taking into account all the levels of neural organization: molecule, cell, small network, and anatomical circuit. This synthetic approach is necessary for determining the real mechanisms among the potential ones, that is the neural bases of learning and memory in intact organisms functioning under normal conditions. For this purpose, data from molecular, cellular and behavioral neurobiology, neuropsychology, animal and human psychology, and neural modellization are comprehensively reviewed by leading specialists and brought together in an original synthesis.

Memristor And Memristive Neural Networks written by Alex James and has been published by BoD – Books on Demand this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-04-04 with Computers categories.

This book covers a range of models, circuits and systems built with memristor devices and networks in applications to neural networks. It is divided into three parts: (1) Devices, (2) Models and (3) Applications. The resistive switching property is an important aspect of the memristors, and there are several designs of this discussed in this book, such as in metal oxide/organic semiconductor nonvolatile memories, nanoscale switching and degradation of resistive random access memory and graphene oxide-based memristor. The modelling of the memristors is required to ensure that the devices can be put to use and improve emerging application. In this book, various memristor models are discussed, from a mathematical framework to implementations in SPICE and verilog, that will be useful for the practitioners and researchers to get a grounding on the topic. The applications of the memristor models in various neuromorphic networks are discussed covering various neural network models, implementations in A/D converter and hierarchical temporal memories.

Memory Imprinting And The Brain written by Gabriel Horn and has been published by Oxford University Press, USA this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1985 with Language Arts & Disciplines categories.

Ranging from behavioral to molecular levels of analysis, this informative study presents the results of recent research into the biochemistry and neural mechanisms of imprinting. Horn discusses some of the difficulties that researchers have encountered in analyzing the neural basis of memory and describes ways in which these difficulties have been overcome through the analysis of memories underlying habituation and imprinting. He also considers the biochemical consequences of imprinting and its cerebral localization, and examines the relationships between human and animal memory.

Long-term potentiation (LTP) is by far the most dominant model for neuronal changes that might encode memory. LTP is an elegant concept that meets many criteria set up by theoreticians long before the model's discovery, and it also fits anatomical data of learning-dependent synapse changes. Since the discovery of LTP, the question has remained about how closely LTP produced in vitro by artificial stimulation of neurons actually models putative learning-induced synaptic changes. A number of recent investigations have tried to correlate synaptic changes observed after learning with changes produced by artificial stimulation of neurons. These studies have failed to find a correlation between the two forms of synaptic plasticity. In this book, an international group of neurobiologists and psychologists discuss their latest ideas and data. The results of experiments using electrophysiological techniques in vitro are discussed and compared with the results of in vivo experiments. Learning experiments are also discussed. Theoretical models such as the Hebb theory of synaptic changes during learning are compared to different models that do not predict upregulation of synaptic transmission. A wide approach is taken, and research and models in different brain areas such as the neocortex and the basal brain are discussed.
