Your decisions matter. You've been created to live a great story and leave a dent in this universe. Wrestling with our calling in life is a fundamental struggle for just about everyone. Who are we supposed to be? How are we supposed to live? What are we supposed to do? These are all questions many of us grapple with. Surprisingly, the Samson narrative is one of the most instructive stories for helping us answer these questions. Often touted as a story about muscles, testosterone, and seduction, there is so much more to this ancient account. Employing all the best tools for interpreting the Bible today, Brad Gray unpacks the Samson story anew, giving us fresh insights into the universal callings of those desiring to live out God's fullest design for life. Perfect for personal and small group study, MAKE YOUR MARK will reignite your sense of purpose and stretch your faith so you can find the next step on the journey towards your calling. With passion, humor, and skill, Brad shows us how we can get right what Samson got wrong in order to flourish in our humanity, to make the most of the lives we've been given, and to leave a positive mark on our world. Make Your Mark written by Tristan Manco and has been published by National Geographic Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-03-29 with Art categories.

Legendary talent-finder Tristan Manco uncovers the next generation of urban creators In an age when Banksy’s installations are protected by Plexiglas and graffiti artists exhibit in galleries as well as on the street, Make Your Mark explores the work of thirty-five urban artists who use mark-making techniques—drawing, painting, and other methods—to create a diverse array of work. Ranging from figurative painting, illustration, and comic book drawing to tattoo art, poster design, and mural-making, the work is stylistically original, often incorporating experimental techniques or elements of the handmade. This is the intersection of traditional and “street” sensibilities, from Mexican-born artist Carlos Donjuán’s paintings of masked figures to the atmospheric drawings of Bucharest-based artist Mark Francis Williams, whose work responds to the new shopping malls around his city that offer “a hyper-real, super-beautiful sense of certainty” but conceal an ominous underbelly. Other featured artists include the French illustrator and graffiti artist Bault, the American muralist Zio Ziegler, and the Japanese painter Fuco Ueda. As in his previous books on street art and other nontraditional genres, author Tristan Manco’s curatorial eye is a valuable guide at the frontier of a new genre. Students, artists, and anyone interested in art will be inspired by the integrity and grit of these unconventional creators on the rise.

A true story told through the eyes of an Officer who served twenty-two months aboard the LST. The ship was scheduled for a six-month tour in the Mediterranean. On January 7, 1952, the ship sailed into a devastating storm, and six hours later, they were losing cargo overboard. In addition to the loss of cargo, the ship is plagued with a navigator threatened with failure to carry out a direct order. In Malta, the LST hits two water barges and one British LCM. Two crewmen were fighting in Naples return to the ship, where one stabs the other; the LST collides with the refueling tanker; two crewmen fighting aboard ship and one threatens the Exec; forty crewmen end up fighting on the main deck; and a duty officer nearly falls overboard. Finally, the ship is beached in Terceria with a large hole in the bottom of its hull. As if that’s not enough, the Captain and Exec bring lady friends aboard the ship; the crew attempts to sail without the Captain and Exec and end up sailing into a force 3 hurricane. Captain Black Mark is the story of all these things. As incredible as it sounds, is it any wonder that the captain develops irrational fixations that his superiors were aware of everything that was happening and that it was these things that prevented him from being promoted.
