Le «profezie» di Susskind – giurista, avvocato e professore a Oxford – non hanno nulla a che fare con la fantasia. Anche se le istituzioni sono lente a recepire il cambiamento e le facoltà giuridiche restie a adeguare i programmi al mondo in cui lavoreranno gli avvocati di domani, la metamorfosi della professione legale è già una realtà. Una realtà fatta di tribunali e corti virtuali, studi associati che diventano colossi legali digitalizzati, consulenze online, servizi massificati, liberalizzazioni e outsourcing, ma anche nuove professioni. Con una nota molto positiva da tenere a mente. Susskind ci ricorda che, soprattutto nei casi più complessi e delicati, non verrà mai meno del tutto la necessità di consulenza e assistenza personalizzata: di ottimi avvocati ci sarà sempre bisogno.
