Statua dimmi, chi sei? è un’opera in quartine a rime alternate che si susseguono nella stessa struttura metrica in entrambe le parti in cui è suddiviso il testo. Narra di una statua triforme, trovata intorno al 1650 a Polizzi Generosa, Iside secondo lo storico Caruso, il cui etimo è Polis Isidis. Col corpo di donna e tre facce diverse, il misterioso simulacro venne distrutto per volontà di un vescovo che lo ritenne un simbolo pagano. Successivamente giurati e notabili del luogo, indignati per quanto accaduto, si riunirono per sottoscrivere una protesta per la perdita del prezioso reperto. Il testo è suddiviso in due parti: - un dialogo che avviene fra la statua e il sacerdote don Calascibetta, suo custode, prima della distruzione. - un sogno nel quale l’autore si trova catapultato nel mezzo della protesta fra i personaggi dell’epoca. Attingendo a racconto popolare, mitologia e fonti archeologiche, l’autore racconta in forma dialogica, la storia della statua triforme la cui importanza artistica e simbolica non è stata oscurata dopo secoli.
