This book is not for me to get any glory, but to God be the Glory! I’ve known in some form since I was a child that my story would reach many. All I’m doing is being his ambassador. No matter what you’ve been through, Mat. 7:7 says, “Ask and it shall be given you. Seek and ye shall find. Knock and it shall be opened unto you.” God bless you.

Eight setups. Eight awkward dates. Eight things God tried to teach her along the way. (Some of which she’s still trying to figure out.) Stephanie Rische was starting to feel invisible. All around her, her friends were getting married, and she found herself decidedly alone. Stephanie couldn’t help but wonder if there was something broken in her—was she not pretty enough? Not fun enough? Not dateable enough (whatever that meant)? So she started praying in earnest for God to bring the right man into her life. And instead, He brought her matchmakers. Eight of them, to be precise. Beloved blogger Stephanie Rische debuts with this charming, vulnerable, and (who are we kidding?) often mortifying true story of a girl who tried really hard to find someone to fall in love with—even when she mostly just ended up falling flat on her face. But amid the most cringeworthy setups and awkward encounters, Stephanie found God’s grace and love meeting her there in ways she never could have imagined—once she opened her eyes to see.

Was Blind But Now I See written by Barbara J. Flagg and has been published by NYU Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1998 with Law categories.

Law professor Flagg contends that most white people associate race with skin pigment: the less someone has of the latter, the less they have of the former. Thinking they have no race therefore, they proclaim their decisions to be race-neutral when they actually reflect white race-specific norms that are invisible to them. She shows how the blindness translates into institutional racism in laws, and suggests some reforms. Annotation copyrighted by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR

Once I Was Blind, But Now I See is a book written for all Christians, to give testimony to God's ever-present hand in our lives. For those who are outside the Christian faith, outside the Catholic Church, or simply feeling distant and questioning if God is really here, I believe this book will transform their lives. The book draws its readers into the same desire for communion with God and the Church, whichCharles Piccirilli has personally experienced. There is a great need for this type of personal testimony today, addressing the lack of hope in our culture, to which John Paul II said, "to show the faithful souls the unspeakable riches of the love of Christ."

When I was six years old I started wearing glasses to correct my short sight. My perception of my low vision changed when I was twenty years old and found out that my brother had suddenly gone blind. He was told that he was suffering from Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP), a disorder that slowly destroys the pigment cells in the eyes. There are three different strains of RP and the one my brother has runs in the male line of a family. So far, there are no known cures. My brother's eyes deteriorated quickly which confused us all. I soon became curious and convinced myself to attend an eye appointment to determine whether there was more wrong with my eyes than just being short-sighted. At the age of twenty-one I was also diagnosed with RP. Since then I have been slowly going blind, not knowing when my world would finally fade away forever. Finally at the age of twenty-eight I was also registered blind. Then to everyone's surprise, my sister was registered blind two years later. Despite the problems it has caused me, I have managed to keep a positive attitude towards life. I hold a 4th degree black belt in Taekwondo and I was the first registered blind person in England to achieve this level of excellence. After studying Taekwondo for over twenty years, I now teach many classes of my own. At present I have twenty Black Belts. The inspiration to write a book came from persistently helping my friends with their problems. Now I would like to help other people by passing on my strengths. The story of my life could be used as a motivational tool for other people as it shows how to cope with a wide range of emotions. There are many visually impaired people who could benefit. The positive thinking market could also find my book useful as it shows a positive way of coping with the challenges of life.
