- How were the pyramids built? - Why were the pyramids built? In this book, I will try to answer these two questions and explain some of the advanced techniques that may have been used to build the pyramids. Also, I'm going to add 2 more questions;- When the pyramids were built?- Who built the pyramids?I can say that these questions are not from modern times. No, these questions were asked by the visitors of Egypt in the last 3000 years. Most of these visitors (if not all) unfortunately didn't have any chance for credible sources; that's why many of their stories about Ancient Egypt are false stories and fantasy. The Greek traveler and historian Herodotus visited Egypt around 450 BC. Herodotus traveled all over Egypt, and he wrote extensively about Ancient Egypt, writing about the time he witnessed and the ancient history he didn't witness. To tell these stories, he depended on local stories and maybe even local guides during his journey through the ancient sites and structures.Herodotus mentioned the Great Pyramid in his book (History), and he stated that it took 20 years to be built. He also tried to add more information about the Great Pyramid by giving some measurements of the width and height of the sides of the pyramid.Yes, we know that some of the stories are not correct, especially the story about the daughter of the king who was sent to work as a prostitute in order to bring supplies and materials to the construction, but we must appreciate the passion of Herodotus to write about the Egyptian civilization.
