A partire da un’ampia gamma di fonti iconografiche (tessere, manifesti, cartoline, giornali, siti web...), Luciano Cheles ricostruisce l’evoluzione della propaganda figurativa della destra dal 1946 a oggi, interrogandosi sugli elementi di continuità e discontinuità fra il fascismo e i tre partiti che nel corso degli anni si sono passati il testimone della destra: dal Movimento Sociale Italiano a Fratelli d’Italia, passando per Alleanza Nazionale. Il volume mostra come, sotto la sua apparente “normalità”, la propaganda della destra postfascista celi spesso allusioni e precisi riferimenti rivolti a un pubblico di nostalgici capaci di riconoscerli, abituando allo stesso tempo gli italiani a una versione moderna dei valori del regime.

Caterina Cornaro (1454-1510) came from one of the most important Venetian families of her time and became the last queen of Cyprus. On the occasion of the fifth centenary of her death, an international conference was held in Venice in September 2010 - organised by the two editors of this volume. During that interdisciplinary event, well-known scholars from the fields of history, art history, literary history, archaeology, Byzantine studies and musicology presented the results of their most recent research across a broad subject area. The queen's biography and myth were traced, as well as the reception of this historical figure in art and on stage. Stress was laid upon socioeconomic and cultural phenomena resulting from the close contact between Venice and Cyprus during the Renaissance period, and also in focus was the literary production at Caterina's court 'in exile' in Venice and the neighbouring mainland. The present volume offers a collection of the conference's papers. Autorevoli specialisti nei campi della storia, storia dell'arte, storia della letteratura, archeologia, musicologia e degli studi bizantini hanno presentato - in un'ottica interdisciplinare - le loro ricerche più recenti su un vasto ambito tematico. The Second Century occupies a central place in the development of ancient Christianity. The aim of the book is to examine how in the cultural, social, and religious efflorescence of the Second Century,to be witnessed inphenomena such as the Second Sophistic, Christianity found a peculiar way of integrating into the more general transformation of the Empire and how this allowed the emerging religion to establish and flourish in Graeco-Roman society. Hadrian’s reign was the starting point ofthat process and opened new possibilities of self-definition and external self-presentation to Christianity, as well asto other social and religious agencies. Differently from Judaism, however, Christianity fully seized the opportunity,thus gaining an increasing place in Graeco-Roman society, which ultimately led to the first Christian peace under the Severan emperors. The point at issue is examined from a multi-disciplinary perspective (including archaeology, cultural, religious, and political history) to challenge well-established, but no longer satisfactory, historical and hermeneutical paradigms. The contributors aim to examine institutional issues and sociocultural processes in their different aspects, as they were made possibleon Hadrian’s initiative andresulted inthemerge of early Christianityinto the Roman Empire.
