Es wird Augenmerk auf eine Komprimierung der Markteintrittsstrategien, eine Gegenüberstellung der Vor- und Nachteile der Filialisierung und auf das Konzept der Standardisierung gelegt. Anschließend wird das Unternehmen LIDL anhand der theoretischen Aspekte betrachtet und dabei die Präsenz und Strategie auf Auslandsmärkten interpretiert und ausgewertet. Durch die enorme Breite des Themas "Internationalisierung" kann man im Rahmen dieser Arbeit nur auf eine Hand von Thematiken eingehen. Innerhalb der Internationalisierungsstrategien werden lediglich einige Markteintritts- und Marktbearbeitungsstrategien miteinbezogen. Das große Volumen des Themas würde auch das Zusammenspiel des Marketing-Mixes in Bezug auf das internationale Management beinhalten. Dies spielt vor allem bei der Expansion ins Ausland eine große Rolle, kann aber aufgrund der Masse an Informationen in dieser Arbeit nicht behandelt werden.
