La successione delle letture si divide in cinque sezioni, ognuna con approfondimenti specifici su tematiche riguardanti archeologia, il paesaggio, la storia della città e della forma urbis declinata nelle sue varie accezioni, con riferimento a città e territori di antica origine. / [English]: This volume contains studies and research carried out in Italy and in other countries gravitating around the Mediterranean basin on the theme of the identity signs of the city and the landscape, with the aim of promoting scientific updates, exchanges of knowledge and social experiences with reference to archaeological sites, historic urban centres and rural villages, proposing a reading of the architectural, artistic and natural stratifications that still characterise their historic-environmental values, as well as their coastal and territorial beauty. The succession of readings is divided into five sections, each with specific in-depth studies on issues concerning archaeology, the landscape, the history of the city and the forma urbis declined in its various meanings, with reference to cities and territories of ancient origin.

La pienezza dell’essere dell’uomo è nell’incontro dell’io con l’altro, nella condivisione della comune umanità. Legato all’io da uno rapporto di somiglianza e di prossimità e partecipe di uno stesso destino umano, l’altro non potrebbe mai essere o diventare un suo oppositore o un suo concorrente e tanto meno un suo nemico. L’altro è, soprattutto, il destino ultimo dell’io, il richiamo della sua massima responsabilità. Di questa comune responsabilità entrambi – l’io e l’altro – sono nello stesso tempo i soggetti e i destinatari, i garanti e gli esecutori. I fili di un discorso sull’uomo e sul mondo sono dipanati e ritessuti sulla trama di un nuovo racconto sull’uomo, dove l’altro diventa la traccia della responsabilità dell’io. Non basta riconoscere all’altro la sua identità in rapporto all’io o affermarne la comune origine o la sua correlatività. È necessario disporre l’io e l’altro sullo stesso piano come due realtà plurali che si richiamano a vicenda e costituiscono l’espressione privilegiata dell’umano nel mondo. La responsabilità dell’io verso l’altro richiede che la responsabilità stessa si trasformi in azione con l’altro e per l’altro nell’assunzione della compassione come termine dell’azione stessa. Dono e perdono diventano, in questo contesto, i due paradigmi di una esistenza umana che fa del tempo presente lo spazio privilegiato del dono e nel perdono si riconcilia con un passato segnato dalla colpa e dall’offesa. Il perdono si dà solo dove c’è una colpa da perdonare e dove c’è la consapevolezza di dover compiere un percorso di pentimento.

È necessario nel nostro tempo chiedersi non solo se nel pensiero di Jacques Derrida ci siano stati gli elementi per rintracciarvi una filosofia della democrazia, della democrazia a-venire, ma domandarsi altresì perché per Derrida sia stato importante affermare che non c’è democrazia senza filosofia, ovvero senza democrazia in filosofia, in modo da poter comprendere che la decostruzione non soltanto è alla radice democratica, ma che non si può dare decostruzione senza democrazia. Com’è noto, dopo la prima fase decostruttiva della tradizione metafisica, a partire dagli anni Ottanta del Novecento, Derrida orienta la propria filosofia sul terreno etico-politico, sviluppando criticamente una serie di temi: il dono, il perdono, l’ospitalità, l’amicizia, la comunità, la testimonianza, il segreto, il lutto, la legge, il rapporto forza/ diritto, la giustizia, la decisione, la responsabilità, la crisi della sovranità. La strategia decostruttiva è far emergere una concezione del soggetto capace di mettere radicalmente in questione ogni identità raccolta in sé, purificata dall’alterità e dall’eterogeneità. A partire da qui la scrittura filosofica dell’ultimo Derrida compie una decostruzione del politico che avvia una riflessione originale sulla questione dell’animale, della vita e del pensiero del vivente. Attraversando la frontiera dei due “sguardi” – dell’animale e dell’umano – che si protende oltre l’inquietante prossimità di questa distinzione, Derrida ci consegna nella scrittura il suo bestiario filosofico-politico con L’animale che dunque sono e La bestia e il sovrano. Di ciò si occupa questo libro di Antonio De Simone che offre una “lettura” sagittale di Derrida, un classico “eccedente” della filosofia contemporanea di cui occorre ancora raccogliere appieno la sfida della sua eredità.
