Questo libro si propone a tutte quelle persone desiderose di riappropriarsi del cielo notturno. Non vuol essere un manuale tecnico, anche se alcuni tecnicismi su determinati argomenti saranno inevitabili. Piuttosto intende proporsi come una guida pratica alla riscoperta ''visuale'' dell''Universo, nelle forme e modalità consentite dalle moderne tecnologie ottiche. Guide pratiche per gli appassionati di astronomia amatoriale ne esistono già parecchie, in questo volume vorrei provare ad offrire qualcosa di diverso. Ho scelto di limitare allo stretto essenziale illustrazioni, schemi ed altro supporto grafico, preferendo che siano le parole a guidare i lettori alla scoperta dei diversi argomenti. Per alcuni, già avvezzi alla manualistica di genere, questo verrà percepito come un limite. Confido però che altri lettori apprezzeranno la continuità della narrazione, riservando gli approfondimenti tecnici ad un secondo momento.Il taglio del libro è orientato alla pratica osservativa: l''intenzione è guidare i lettori a vedere gli oggetti celesti, non sviluppare nel dettaglio teorie e formalismi. Per questo motivo su molti argomenti mi limiterò ad approssimazioni anche grossolane, nella speranza di conservare una continuità di esposizione che eviti al lettore di perdersi in eccessivi dettagli, e scivolare nella noia. La prima parte della trattazione è dedicata agli oggetti che transitano sopra le nostre teste e che avremo la possibilità di osservare con una strumentazione adeguata. È una parte rivolta principalmente a chi approcci da zero la materia. Qui, più che in altre parti del volume, eviterò di scendere nei dettagli, limitandomi a riportare quelle nozioni di base che sono solito snocciolare nel corso delle serate per il pubblico, o che servono a spiegare ciò che si sta osservando agli amici che occasionalmente riesco a coinvolgere nelle nottate osservative.Un racconto a ''grana grossa'', sufficiente ad inquadrare l''argomento della discussione senza perdersi in troppe nozioni accessorie. Non andrò pertanto a sviscerare le conoscenze di planetologia ed astrofisica accumulatesi nel tempo. Per ogni oggetto, o tipologia di oggetti, la mole di informazioni disponibile in rete è letteralmente sconfinata: Wikipedia sarà un ottimo punto di partenza per chi desiderasse ulteriori approfondimenti.Nelle parti successive del volume si passa ad esplorare il mondo degli osservatori visuali del cielo, i cosiddetti ''visualisti''. Questa è la fetta di appassionati cui appartengo, e le cui istanze ritengo di poter rappresentare con efficacia. Più oltre segue una disamina delle attrezzature per l''osservazione visuale, dalle diverse tipologie di telescopi agli accessori, sempre in un''ottica di massimizzazione della resa ai fini osservativi. Stupirà realizzare come numerosi telescopi in commercio, inclusi strumenti di grandi dimensioni e del costo di molte migliaia di euro, non nascono orientati a questo tipo di utilizzo. In questa parte eviterò di scendere in dettagli da trattato di ottica geometrica, e mi limiterò a descrivere le strumentazioni facilmente reperibili sul mercato, discriminando quanto realmente necessario all''osservazione visuale dai materiali ideati per altri utilizzi, riprese digitali in primis.Terminata la disamina della parte strumentale verranno affrontate le questioni relative alla preparazione della sessione osservativa ed alla scelta del sito, quindi si passerà a sviscerare le questioni pratiche da affrontare nel corso della nottata osservativa. Queste sono le parti che, credo, maggiormente verranno apprezzate dagli appassionati di lunga data, contenendo consigli e suggerimenti maturati nel corso di diversi decenni di pratica osservativa visuale.Completano il volume una manciata di racconti di ''vita vissuta''. Da ultimo, nella sezione ''appendici'', ho riservato uno spazio per gli approfondimenti tecnici ed una carrellata di diversi siti osservativi, in Italia e all''estero, che ho avuto modo di frequentare nel corso degli anni

Catalogue of the exhibition by Roberto Fanari held at the Studio Museo Francesco Messina, Milan. The core feature of the exhibition is 'The Rediscovered Sky', a painting on canvas, 12 metres long and 6 metres wide, on two panels composed of 36 individual canvases and placed at a height of 12 metres. The link between art and nature, and between art and architecture is evident in the play created by the use of architectural elements, from the crypt on the ground floor, and the light sources like the enormous window of the apse. Aware of the perfect dialogue between the work and the surrounding space, Fanari created an installation that integrates perfectly within the exhibition space. Other works shown on the ground floor are closely connected to the painted ceilings through their affinity or contrast. National identity is not some naturally given or metaphysically sanctioned racial or territorial essence that only needs to be conceptualised or spelt out in discursive texts; it emerges from, takes shape in, and is constantly defined and redefined in individual and collective performances. La nostra mente si ritroverà immersa in sensazioni terribili e sensazioni anche giocose, ma sempre con quel senso di malessere che si sprigiona a ogni parola e che non ci fa vedere altro. Questi versi sembra che vivano, sembra che abbiano quell'essenza che li fa trasmutare in qualcosa che trascende le altre cose. Versi che gemono, nascondendo quel pianto che squarcia le viscere. Credete forse di riuscire a distaccarvi da tutto questo? Preparatevi invece a questo canto, a questi versi scuri, terribili, dove la malinconia rende vana ogni altro pensiero.

Maria Cristina Felci, nata a Velletri (Rm) il 6 novembre 1985, nel 2010 pubblica con Ibiskos Editrice Risolo la sua prima Silloge di poesia L’equilibrio dell’amore, dopo essere stata segnalata al “Premio Nazionale Ibiskos 2010”. Nel 2011 partecipa con la pubblicazione al “Premio europeo di arti letterarie Via Francigena”, vincendo il Premio della Giuria per la poesia edita. Nel 2015 pubblica all’interno della collana esclusiva Gold dell’lbiskos Editrice Risolo, una nuova raccolta poetica, dal titolo “Ingrate parole”. I componimenti poetici sono stati pubblicati in varie antologie, ed hanno partecipato con successo a diversi eventi culturali tra i quali “Castelli di scrittori 2015”. Evento organizzato dal Sistema bibliotecario della provincia di Roma. Nel 2017 riceve una Menzione al merito per la poesia, all’interno del Premio Internazionale Salvatore Quasimodo. Il suo primo romanzo giallo, L’uomo dentro l’ombra, viene pubblicato nel 2018, all’interno della Collana “Edificare Universi”, di Europa Edizioni.
