Thriller - romanzo (286 pagine) - Un cadavere senza testa e una serie di indizi misteriosi sono il segno inequivocabile della matrice esoterica di un omicidio, ma soltanto una mente allenata a riconoscerli potrà comprendere il messaggio segreto che celano. In questi casi, si sa: se cerchi i guai, alla fine i guai ti trovano. Roma: un cadavere senza testa viene ritrovato in un appartamento. Il caso è affidato a Patrizia Goretti, una giovane ispettrice di polizia, meticolosa e intelligente. Una serie di sfortunati eventi invece coinvolgono Giulio Pompei, un biker semi-professionista che viene convocato in commissariato. Per puro caso Giulio e Patrizia si incontrano e si riconoscono: tanti anni prima avevano frequentato l’istituto d’arte insieme, si erano innamorati e poi persi di vista; qualcosa di sopito si risveglia in loro e cominceranno a frequentarsi di nuovo. Un indizio misterioso sta però mettendo in difficoltà la polizia: si tratta di un teschio ritrovato sulla scena del crimine. Inizialmente attribuito alla vittima, risale in realtà a epoca romana, probabilmente sottratto da una catacomba. Patrizia si confida con Giulio che, incuriosito dagli eventi e ferrato in materia, la aiuta a ricostruire uno scenario plausibile. Una pista inquietante comincia a prendere forma tra uomini di Chiesa corrotti, nuovi cadaveri e segreti sconvolgenti. Patrizia per fare chiarezza sul caso avrà più volte bisogno dei consigli di Giulio, esperto di storia dell’arte sì, ma anche grande appassionato di esoterismo. Le sue intuizioni faranno luce sulla matrice misteriosa ed enigmatica degli omicidi. Sebbene qualcuno non voglia accettare questa teoria, è solo seguendo questa pista che Patrizia e Giulio cominceranno a capire qualcosa. Mettendo in fila, tassello dopo tassello, tutte le informazioni disponibili, si renderanno conto che le loro scoperte sono soltanto parte di un disegno più ampio che li vede coinvolti in prima persona e che il loro incontro, come la loro separazione, non sono stati per niente casuali. Fabrizio Cennamo, nato e cresciuto a Roma, ha maturato le sue esperienze attraverso lo studio, la curiosità e il confronto con la realtà sociale dei quartieri della sua città. Ha svolto molteplici lavori: impiegato, addetto alle vendite, fattorino e magazziniere. Oggi è libraio, sposato e felicemente papà. Negli anni ha scritto numerosi racconti e romanzi, soprattutto di genere horror e thriller. Lo sport, la musica rock e il cinema sono altre sue grandi passioni. George Gordon Byron was a superb letter-writer: almost all his letters, whatever the subject or whoever the recipient, are enlivened by his wit, his irony, his honesty, and the sharpness of his observation of people. They provide a vivid self-portrait of the man who, of all his contemporaries, seems to express attitudes and feelings most in tune with the twentieth century. In addition, they offer a mirror of his own time. This first collected edition of all Byronâe(tm)s known letters supersedes Protheroâe(tm)s incomplete edition at the turn of the century. It includes a considerable number of hitherto unpublished letters and the complete text of many that were bowdlerized by former editors for a variety of reasons. Protheroâe(tm)s edition included 1,198 letters. This edition has more than 3,000, over 80 percent of them transcribed entirely from the original manuscripts.An enchanting epistolary saga ends with the publication of this volume. Volume XI, âe~For freedomâe(tm)s battleâe(tm), contains the letters Byron wrote from Greece between August 1823 and April 9, 1824, ten days before his death. Also included are over fifty letters dating from 1807 to 1820 that have come to light since Leslie A. Marchand began this project ten years ago.In the letters from Greece a new set of correspondents appears, and a new tone is apparent. Although occasionally playful, Byron is preoccupied with the revolution and his efforts to unite the Greeks in a common cause despite their discord. His chief correspondents are his business agents in the islands and his banker friend in Genoa, Charles Barry, to whom he writes frank accounts of daily affairs. His letters to Hobhouse and to John Bowring attempt to give a realistic picture of the Greek struggle. To Teresa Guiccioli he writes only short, dutiful postscripts in English to the longer letters addressed to her brother.Among the additional letters that became available too late to take their chronological place in the earlier volumes are those discovered in 1976, locked in a trunk at Barclays Bank; all but one of these fourteen letters were written to Scrope Davies, Byronâe(tm)s witty friend and drinking companion.

Richard Cardwell was given the Elma Dangerfield Award of the International Byron Society for the best book on Byron in 2005-06 Byron, arguably, was and remains the most famous and infamous English poet in the modern period in Continental Europe. Con gli stilemi del racconto gotico, Luca Raimondi racconta una storia di adolescenti in gita nell’atipico scenario tardo autunnale della località balneare di Fontane Bianche, che si confrontano con i misteri della natura, dell’ignoto, di Dio e dei propri nodi esistenziali irrisolti. Una villa nei dintorni di una spiaggia diventa teatro di una serie di inspiegabili eventi che hanno ripercussioni diverse su personalità esemplari: c’è l’intellettuale, la secchiona, la “ragazza facile”, il bullo, il timido; dieci caratteri apparentemente banali che invece nascondono ognuno un particolare stato psicologico che è forse innanzitutto paura del futuro, ma anche, come nel caso più drammatico di una ragazza coinvolta in un contrastato e ambiguo rapporto con i genitori, di un presente contraddistinto dalla mediocrità, dall’ignoranza, dal vuoto e dall’angoscia di vivere di una generazione di padri e madri che poco sembrano avere da insegnare ai propri figli. Nel corso di un’improvvisa e sovrannaturale tempesta, qualcosa annulla la volontà dei ragazzi o forse, al contrario, la fa venire fuori. Piccoli segnali preludono a imminenti cambiamenti, rinascite, lutti, delitti. Ogni personaggio segue un suo personale percorso di formazione accompagnato da inspiegabili eventi che sembrano generati da un mare, solcato da un misterioso vascello fantasma che forse attraccherà o forse scomparirà nel nulla portando qualcuno con sé. “Pian piano, nel dipanarsi di ore in cui la realtà sembra sfumare nel torbido accavallarsi deglieventi, nel manifestarsi di segni scuri e in incubi e comportamenti macchiati di delirante follia, il“mare” che li attende, li ipnotizza e li minaccia porterà dentro le loro anime e le loro menti ondeinarrestabili: quelle che gridano il bisogno (e l’onere) di confrontarsi con i misteri della vita e dellamorte, del bene e del male, del materiale e del soprannaturale, della ragione e della follia, del vero edell’immaginato. Potremmo definire questo romanzo di Raimondi “thriller psicologico”, come è statofatto, oppure “noir metafisico”.
