Questo viaggio negli “anni di piombo” si pone l'obiettivo di analizzare il percorso deviante di sei militanti delle Brigate Rosse, attraverso loro interviste, biografie e autobiografie. Dopo aver contestualizzato il periodo storico, l'autrice procede per fasi (adesione, militanza, distacco dalla lotta armata), prendendo in esame per ognuna quelle motivazioni ricorrenti, che possano costituire un dato “generazionale”, una sorta di “portato sociale”. Vi sono spiegazioni o motivazioni che, aldilà delle differenti individualità, ricorrono nel momento della adesione alle BR? E, durante la militanza, si può ritenere che negazione, rimozione e neutralizzazione costituiscano meccanismi di autodifesa ricorrenti, attuati dai militanti per sostenere il peso della lotta armata, scelta “totalizzante”, che comporta clandestinità e rottura dei rapporti affettivi? Infine, si esamina il distacco, momento in cui, spesso dal carcere, l’individuo riflette sul suo percorso, cercando, o creando, spiegazioni per il suo agire. Che cosa spinge un militante a mettersi in discussione? È possibile ricavare un tracciato comune, un “voler fare i conti” con la sconfitta storica e politica subita? E, in quest'ambito, come affronta, chi non si distacca, il problema della lealtà nel gruppo armato, lo smarrimento e la paura di fronte a chi ha tradito? Un viaggio intenso ed avvincente, condotto con un'ottica del tutto originale, che lambisce il confine tra psicologia e sociologia.

This volume focuses on the representation of the recent past in classical Athenian oratory and investigates the ability of the orators to interpret it according to their interests; the inability of the Athenians to make an objective assessment of it; and the unwillingness of the citizens to hear the truth, make self-criticism and take responsibility for bad results. Twenty-eight scholars have written chapters to this end, dealing with a wide range of themes, in terms both of contents and of chronology, from the fifth to the fourth century B.C. Each contributor has written a chapter that analyzes one or more historical events mentioned or alluded in the corpus of the Attic orators and covers the three species of Attic oratory. Chapters that treat other issues collectively are also included. The common feature of each contribution is an outline of the recent events that took place and influenced the citizens and/or the city of Athens and its juxtaposition with their rhetorical treatment by the orators either by comparing the rhetorical texts with the historical sources and/or by examining the rhetorical means through which the speakers model the recent past. This book aims at advanced students and professional scholars.
