Sogna di essere scoperto dopo morto perché fama, successo e ricchezza lo terrorizzano più di un equipaggio sbagliato durante un’uscita primaverile. Oggi dà in pasto al pubblico la sua raccolta, riveduta e arricchita (o impoverita, a seconda dei gusti) di scritti sulla vela pubblicati in tanti anni di blog. Siccome nessuno si sognerebbe mai di intervistarlo al riguardo, se l’è cavata da solo. Con gli stessi risultati che ha in barca. Rinaldi, perché un libro sulla vela? Ce ne sono già di bellissimi. E soprattutto: gli autori sono veri navigatori. Tu non sei nemmeno degno del titolo dispregiativo di “marinaio d’acqua dolce”. Infatti è il primo libro scritto da un velista mediocre, un cialtrone da terra, un navigatore della domenica. Incapace perfino di passare l’esame della patente senza limiti. Se supero le 12 miglia dalla costa mi arrestano come uno scafista qualsiasi. E allora che senso ha? Ce l’ha. Per un popolo di santi e navigatori, che è tutto fuorché santo e navigatore, c’è bisogno di un libro che metta le cose in chiaro: noi navighiamo così, altro che Soldini e D’Alì. Hai fatto anche la rima. E c’è di più: non sono affatto santo. Prendo per i fondelli questo mondo, anche se mi piace. Nel Paese dove Schettino spiega la gestione del panico all’università, io posso tranquillamente raccontare la gestione del mal di mare, di equipaggi assassini e ormeggi allucinanti.
