Giorgio Vecchi è stato, per oltre trentacinque anni, Professore Associato di Lingua Spagnola all'Università di Pavia. Sue poesie sono state premiate in concorsi locali e nazionali. Piacentino di nascita e di formazione, vive da anni in Oltrepò pavese. Nel 2021 ha pubblicato “Albergo Roma e dintorni”, un volume di racconti sulla Piacenza degli anni '50. È da poco uscito un suo volume di liriche dal titolo “I palpiti del tempo”. Le liriche presenti in questa raccolta parlano soprattutto dell'amore, del difficile rapporto con l'altra, una compagna reale o, spesso, inventata con cui il dialogo è in definitiva impossibile. Il poeta sembra interessato più che al contenuto alla forma/musica del verso in un approccio diretto al lettore che dovrebbe percepire il testo come un giuoco virtuoso tendente a creare una sorta di comunicazione con l'autore. Giorgio Vecchi has been Associate Professor of Spanish Language at the University of Pavia for over thirty-five years. His poems have won prizes in local and national competitions. He is a native of Piacenza by birth and education and has lived in Oltrepò Pavese for many years. In 2021 he published 'Albergo Roma e dintorni', a volume of short stories about Piacenza in the 1950s. A volume of his poems entitled 'I palpiti del tempo' has recently been published. The poems in this collection speak above all of love, of the difficult relationship with the other person, a real or, often, invented companion with whom dialogue is ultimately impossible. The poet seems more interested in the form/music of the verse than in the content, in a direct approach to the reader, who should perceive the text as a virtuous game intending to create a kind of communication with the author.

Notebook 089 is a result of the immense changes that have taken place in the world since 1989. With the end of the Cold War, the utopian neoliberal fantasy of a global capitalist expansion, unfettered by the limits of any borders (psychic, physical, ethical, national, or ecological) and governed through an extension of credit/debt coupled with correlated "structural adjustments," assumed a new function for nation-states around the world, as a privatizer of gains, and a socializer of costs. In a span of twenty years the insolvency of this paradigm has become evident; not only has an entire world been gripped by conflict, depression, extreme inequalities, and irreversible ecological damage, but, in addition, the economic basis underwriting all of this is unable to continue without the very state intervention that had supposedly been rendered unnecessary. These notes do not recount this story, but rather take place in its wake, while also marking out the process of thinking through this critical epoch, in the midst of collective meetings and discussions leading up to and through what would be called Occupy. Rather than fixing these movements, this notebook collects a series of positions, ideas, and conversations, which trace individual articulations and provide multiple cartographies of events in which people said "no" to regimes of concentrated wealth/power from Cochabamba to Tunis, from Cairo to Fukushima, from Madrid to Athens, from New York to Carbondale, and beyond. Here, one will find a continuation of those struggles for autonomy and the affirmation of different forms of life in note form. Leggendo le poesie di Valerio Onorati si ha subito l’impressione che l’autore abbia deciso di comporre questi versi seguendo un preciso programma poetico. L’autore, infatti, concepisce la poesia come un esercizio conoscitivo, di sé stessi in primo luogo. La poesia, cioè, serve per tentare di riordinare la complessità delle cose e le sue forme estetiche non devono somigliare ad arcani incomprensibili e inintelligibili, ma devono essere il più possibile comunicabili cioè possedere la capacità di potere essere messe in comune. In una parola la poesia deve essere anche condivisione. Anche per questa ragione, secondo Onorati “la poesia è la forma letteraria più democratica”. Valerio Onorati nasce a Priverno (LT) il 26 dicembre 2001. Dopo essersi diplomato presso l’ISISS “Teodosio Rossi” di Priverno, studia oggi Filosofia presso l’università “La Sapienza” di Roma. Il Tempo non esiste è la sua prima opera.
