Se però andiamo a verificare quanto c'è di vero in questa frase, ci accorgiamo quanto il passato nazista abbia condizionato il lungo dopoguerra tedesco, generando una tacita e continua tensione, ma producendo solo occasionalmente effettive prese di responsabilità. In questo libro scopriremo come, dopo decenni di oblio e di silenzio interessato, si è cominciato ad affrontare questo tema. Soprattutto dopo la riunificazione del 1990, quando la rielaborazione dei crimini nazisti si fa strumento di unità politica e collettiva.
