THALIA GANOTAKIS, cittadina italiana di origine greca, nata nel Congo nel 1955, ha vissuto fino ai suoi 18 anni nel Congo e nel Burundi. Per ragioni di studio si è trasferita a Bruxelles, dove ha conseguito la laura breve di traduttrice presso l'Istituto universitario per Traduttori e Interpreti. Dal 1976 risiede a Brindisi dopo aver sposato l'uomo che ha conosciuto in Africa durante l'adolescenza. Parla correntemente e insegna inglese, francese, greco e italiano e naturalmente parla swahili. Traduttrice giurata, lavora come consulente tecnico al Tribunale di Brindisi, ha curato la segreteria del Consolato Onorario di Grecia a Brindisi, occupandosi della traduzione di testi legali, commerciali e letterari. Insegna privatamente Inglese, Francese e Greco. Nel 2014 ha pubblicato un libro illustrato di fiabe “Otto Fiabe”, – casa editrice Milella di Lecce, nel 2018 un saggio autobiografico sociale e storico “Malachite, le lacrime degli Avi” – su Amazon, casa editrice fdbooks. Infine, il 26 Luglio 2021 presenta a Brindisi, presso il Palazzo Nervegna, il suo ultimo romanzo “Invisibile come il pitone, paziente come il leopardo”, ambientato negli stessi luoghi descritti in “Malachite, le lacrime degli avi”.
