A proven Java(TM)-based approach to standardizing and streamlining legacy migration This book focuses on the key challenges developers face when using the Java 2 platform Enterprise Edition (J2EE) to encapsulate legacy applications for delivery in a multi-tier Internet environment. Leading Sun architects Torbjoern Dahlen and Thorbioern Fritzon show how to standardize encapsulation using an integration tier that shields the J2EE elements of an application from the properties and demands of its legacy elements. Using this approach, enterprises can promote reuse, accelerate legacy migration projects, and make the most of their COBOL/mainframe and Java expertise. Above all, they can take portability beyond hardware and operating systems, systematically migrating virtually any legacy system without extensive redesign or reprogramming.Presents a pragmatic approach to domain modeling for legacy application migrationPromotes reuse and portability through a standardized, fine-grained domain object modelShows how to streamline the transformation of domain models to working systemsIntroduces a proven, pattern-based J2EE application architecture for Internet-enabling legacy systemsIncludes superior algorithms for object queries, data cleansing and merging, and artificial XA support Advanced J2EE Platform Development presents detailed examples and sample code, including a start-to-finish case study that demonstrates integration between three different legacy systems.

System Of National Accounts 2008 written by International Monetary Fund and has been published by International Monetary Fund this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-09-30 with Business & Economics categories.

This joint publication of the United Nations, the European Commission, the International Monetary Fund, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and the World Bank reflects the changes and improvements that have been introduced to the System of National Accounts since its most recent revision in 1993. The System of National Accounts 2008 (2008 SNA) is a statistical framework that provides a comprehensive, consistent and flexible set of macroeconomic accounts for policymaking, analysis and research purposes. The 2008 SNA is expected to receive distinguished attention not only from professionals practicing in the field of national accounts but policy makers, analysts, academia and a broad range of users who rely on macroeconomic information obtainable from the updated system of accounts. It also provides an overarching framework for standards in other domains of economic statistics, facilitating the integration of these statistical systems to achieve consistency with national accounts. The publication that contains the 2008 SNA has been substantially updated from its previous version as a result of a multiyear collaborative project. Annex 3 of the publication provides a detailed description of the new features of the 2008 SNA. The 2008 SNA will support the implementation of international standards in national accounting and provide the methodological basis for improving the international comparability of national accounts data. When adopting the 2008 SNA as the updated new standard of national accounting, the United Nations Statistical Commission encouraged all countries to compile and report their national accounts on the basis of the 2008 SNA as soon as possible. The publication also provides practical new tools to complement the previously published version: a glossary of SNA terms and definitions and a comprehensive index.

Change is sweeping the globe, and at the government level, operational changes are prompting many public administrators to develop new management styles and ways of delivering services to their citizens. In the process, they are changing the face of government. The New Face of Government: How Public Managers are Forging a New Approach to Governance explores how national leaders are changing the art and practice of government and how public managers are shaping and guiding government’s response to the transformation. Includes a Field-Tested Survey for Diagnosing Institutional Disequilibrium Focusing on change at the federal, state, and local levels, this book addresses policy dimensions such as: Strategic and knowledge management Enterprise architecture Information and communications technology Organizational performance assessment Technological and organizational improvement It evaluates how these areas enable agencies from the public and private sectors to become more cost-effective, performance-oriented learning organizations. Not all the ambiguities in policy making and administration have been resolved. However, there is much hope for the future of government and governance. The successes and failures included in The New Face of Government: How Public Managers are Forging a New Approach to Governance illustrate this promise and provide guideposts for public managers who find themselves faced with similar problems and new challenges. Data Network Engineering written by Tim King and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-06 with Computers categories.

It is certain that, over the next few years, data traffic will dwarf voice traffic on telecommunications networks. Growth in data-traffic volumes far exceeds that for voice, and is driven by increased use of applications such as e-mail attachments, remote printing and fileserver access, and the now omnipresent World Wide Web. The growth of data networking to connect computers with each other and with their peripheral devices began in earnest in the 1970s, took off in the 1980s and exploded in the 1990s. The early 21st century will see ever faster, more cost effective networks providing flexible data access into ever more businesses and homes. Since the 1970s there have been great advances in technology. For the past twenty years the processing power of computers has continued to grow with no hint of slowing - recall the oft-cited Moore's Law claiming that this power doubles every 18 months. Advances in the data networking equipment required to support the data traffic generated have been enormous. The pace of development from early X. 25 and modem technology through to some of the advanced equipment functionality now available is breathtaking - it is sometimes hard to believe that the practical router is barely ten years old! This book provides an overview of the advanced data networking field by bringing together chapters on local area networks, wide area networks and their application.
