Se estudia el impacto del proceso de apertura económica y de las remesas en el crecimiento económico regional en México. A fin de estimar el efecto del proceso de apertura económica, y controlando por los ingresos derivados del fenómeno de las remesas, se establece un modelo econométrico de corte transversal con variables dicotómicas para estimar la importancia de los flujos externos derivados de la apertura económica y de la intensidad regional de las remesas en el crecimiento regional. Los resultados empíricos muestran que en algunas regiones se ha dado un fenómeno de intensificación de la participación de las remesas en el PIB per cápita. Por su parte, los flujos del comercio exterior han mostrado un efecto positivo en el crecimiento regional.
