This book embarks on a mission to dissect, unravel and demystify the concepts of Web services, including their implementation and composition techniques. It provides a comprehensive perspective on the fundamentals of implementation standards and strategies for Web services (in the first half of the book), while also presenting composition techniques for leveraging existing services to create larger ones (in the second half). Pursuing a unique approach, it begins with a sound overview of concepts, followed by a targeted technical discussion that is in turn linked to practical exercises for hands-on learning. For each chapter, practical exercises are available on Github. Mainly intended as a comprehensive textbook on the implementation and composition of Web services, it also offers a useful reference guide for academics and practitioners. Lecturers will find this book useful for a variety of courses, from undergraduate courses on the foundational technology of Web services through graduate courses on complex Web service composition. Students and researchers entering the field will benefit from the combination of a broad technical overview with practical self-guided exercises. Lastly, professionals will gain a well-informed grasp of how to synthesize the concepts of conventional and “newer” breeds of Web services, which they can use to revise foundational concepts or for practical implementation tasks.

Smoothing Techniques written by Wolfgang Härdle and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-06 with Mathematics categories.

The author has attempted to present a book that provides a non-technical introduction into the area of non-parametric density and regression function estimation. The application of these methods is discussed in terms of the S computing environment. Smoothing in high dimensions faces the problem of data sparseness. A principal feature of smoothing, the averaging of data points in a prescribed neighborhood, is not really practicable in dimensions greater than three if we have just one hundred data points. Additive models provide a way out of this dilemma; but, for their interactiveness and recursiveness, they require highly effective algorithms. For this purpose, the method of WARPing (Weighted Averaging using Rounded Points) is described in great detail.

In the ever-evolving landscape of the modern world, the synergy between technology and management has become a cornerstone of innovation and progress. This book, Digital Signal Processing Techniques: Real-Time Implementation and Optimization for Modern Applications, is conceived to bridge the gap between emerging technological advancements in digital signal processing (DSP) and their strategic application in building efficient, real-time systems that are both scalable and optimized for modern demands. Our objective is to equip readers with the tools and insights necessary to excel in this dynamic intersection of fields. This book is structured to provide a comprehensive exploration of the methodologies and strategies that define the innovation of DSP technologies, particularly focusing on techniques and applications relevant to real-time implementation and optimization. From foundational theories to advanced applications, we delve into the critical aspects that drive successful innovation in signal processing systems. We have made a concerted effort to present complex concepts in a clear and accessible manner, making this work suitable for a diverse audience, including students, developers, and industry professionals. In authoring this book, we have drawn upon the latest research and best practices to ensure that readers not only gain a robust theoretical understanding but also acquire practical skills that can be applied in real-world DSP scenarios. The chapters are designed to strike a balance between depth and breadth, covering topics ranging from DSP fundamentals and optimization techniques to the strategic management of scalable systems. Additionally, we emphasize the importance of real-time performance, system efficiency, and robustness, dedicating sections to the art of developing DSP solutions that deliver accuracy, scalability, and resilience. The inspiration for this book arises from a recognition of the crucial role that digital signal processing plays in shaping the future of digital interactions and communication technologies. We are profoundly grateful to Chancellor Shri Shiv Kumar Gupta of Maharaja Agrasen Himalayan Garhwal University for his unwavering support and vision. His dedication to fostering academic excellence and promoting a culture of innovation has been instrumental in bringing this project to fruition. We hope this book will serve as a valuable resource and inspiration for those eager to deepen their understanding of how DSP strategies can be harnessed to drive innovation. We believe that the knowledge and insights contained within these pages will empower readers to lead the way in creating high-performance DSP solutions that will define the future of real-time applications in a wide range of industries. Thank you for joining us on this journey. Authors

FORTE 2001, formerly FORTE/PSTV conference, is a combined conference of FORTE (Formal Description Techniques for Distributed Systems and Communication Protocols) and PSTV (Protocol Specification, Testing and Verification) conferences. This year the conference has a new name FORTE (Formal Techniques for Networked and Distributed Systems). The previous FORTE began in 1989 and the PSTV conference in 1981. Therefore the new FORTE conference actually has a long history of 21 years. The purpose of this conference is to introduce theories and formal techniques applicable to various engineering stages of networked and distributed systems and to share applications and experiences of them. This FORTE 2001 conference proceedings contains 24 refereed papers and 4 invited papers on the subjects. We regret that many good papers submitted could not be published in this volume due to the lack of space. FORTE 2001 was organized under the auspices of IFIP WG 6.1 by Information and Communications University of Korea. It was financially supported by Ministry of Information and Communication of Korea. We would like to thank every author who submitted a paper to FORTE 2001 and thank the reviewers who generously spent their time on reviewing. Special thanks are due to the reviewers who kindly conducted additional reviews for rigorous review process within a very short time frame. We would like to thank Prof. Guy Leduc, the chairman of IFIP WG 6.1, who made valuable suggestions and shared his experiences for conference organization.
