First, the Post Auditor is required to follow up with each agency on a quarterly basis and have officials self-report on their progress in implementing applicable recommendations. Second, the Post Auditor is required to prepare an audit proposal each year that lists "previous audit recommendations for which follow up audit work is necessary to independently ascertain whether such agency or other entity has implemented the audit recommendations."
