Digital Protective Schemes For Power Transformer written by Dharmesh Patel and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-07-11 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book provides a comprehensive overview of protection schemes used for power transformers and describes the internal fault conditions and external abnormalities that may disrupt the operation of a power transformer. It also highlights the issues of current protective schemes, which pose several challenges in terms of the detection of internal faults and abnormalities, including computational burden, reduced accuracy, difficulty to implement, increased cost, computational complexity, impermeability to high resistance faults (HRF), and malfunction in conditions like cross-country fault. To address these problems, the book develops an effective novel transformer protection scheme that can eliminate all the said difficulties using an innovative algorithm. Given its scope, it is a useful resource for researchers and practitioners working in the field of power system protection, allowing them to design novel protection schemes, and providing insights into the hardware validation of developed technique.

Life Management is the key to minimizing the overall life cycle cost of power equipment. While the approach is most useful when planning a new equipment purchase, it can also be used for older transformers based on their service records. This paper summarizes discussions held at the meeting of CIGRE in Paris in 1992, providing the views of both a user and a manufacturer of power transformers.

This book provides in-depth information about the latest trends in transformer insulation design. This practical guide is prepared from a hands-on perspective, offering readers valuable insights into the trends in liquid dielectrics for transformer applications. Chapter 1 covers the necessity of alternate liquid dielectrics for transformers. Chapter 2 delves into the historical development of liquid dielectrics for transformer applications, drawing insights from reputable publications. It also explores the impact of nanoparticles on ester oil characteristics. In Chapter 3, the significance of spectroscopy analysis for investigating the ageing effect on both cellulosic insulating materials and oil samples is discussed. Chapter 4 describes material preparations followed by experimental analysis, estimating the degradation rate of solid and liquid dielectrics using spectroscopies. Chapter 5 discusses the importance of condition monitoring for transformers and its historical methods. Chapter 6 explores the methodology for hot spot indication and its application for assessing the transformer's condition. It covers real-time case studies as well. In Chapter 7, the book investigates the application of artificial intelligence in transformer insulation systems, leveraging machine learning algorithms to predict transformer insulation.

It is almost impossible to imagine life today without the electronics, communications and networks we have all come to take for granted. The 6G network is currently under development and some chips able to operate at the Terahertz (THz) scale have already been introduced, so the next decade will probably see the consolidation of 6G-based technology, as well as many compliant devices. This book presents the proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Electronics, Communications and Networks (CECNet 2021), initially planned to be held from 18-21 November 2021 in Beijing, China, but ultimately held as an online event due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions. The CECNet series is now an established annual event attracting participants in the interrelated fields of electronics, computers, communications and wireless communications engineering and technology from around the world. Careful review by program committee members, who took into consideration the breadth and depth of those research topics that fall within the scope of CECNet, resulted in the selection of the 88 papers presented here from the 325 submissions received. This represents an acceptance rate of around 27%. Providing an overview of current research and developments in these rapidly evolving fields, the book will be of interest to all those working with digital communications networks.

Remnant Life Estimation Model Using Fuzzy Logic For Power Transformer Asset Management written by Muhammad Arshad and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005 with categories.

This thesis investigates power transformer criticalities, identifies critical indicators for the rate of aging, proposes a model for its remnant life estimation and provides strategies for its effective life cycle management. A novel fuzzy logic based remnant life estimation modelling was carried out using diagnostics and test data interpretation techniques. The tests mainly include dissolved gas analysis, partial discharge, degree of polymerization, furan, dielectric dissipation factor, moisture, return voltage measurement, frequency response analysis, dielectric strength, interfacial tension, hotspot, oil power factor, leakage reactance, rate of gas evolution and ultra-violet Spectrophotometry. This research is a major step as the majority of the transformers fleet is serving either close to or beyond its expected design life. Remnant life assessment of in service, aged power transformers will help in implementing enhanced condition-based maintenance strategies to achieve transformer life extension with improved reliability.
