Jim and Peg Rule were living active lives when without warning, back pain signaled the onset of cancer and in less than nine months, Jim's life partner of thirty-seven years was gone. Like many others who have lost a loved one to premature death, Jim faced the difficult challenge of going on with his life. As folded socks, toothbrushes, and shampoo became near-sacred objects, Jim wondered why God had not prevented Peg's death. In this collection of poignant essays, Jim not only shares the thoughts and feelings that express his sorrow as he walked through the journey of grief, but also provides insight and sensitivity into the workings of God and how He provides assurance and courage, even in the face of great tragedy. Written in two parts aftermath and individuation Jim details the beginning of his solitary life, how he muddled through the holidays and other firsts, and how he learned to establish his individuality, separate and distinct from whom he had become with his wife. For anyone traveling through the darkness after the shadow of death, Letting Go of Forever touches the soul, inspires a broken heart, and encourages the belief that better days will come.

Now.”

Imagining World Politics written by L.H.M. Ling and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-02-03 with Political Science categories.

This book offers a non-Western feminist perspective on world politics and international relations. Creative, innovative, and challenging, it seeks completely to transform contemporary Eurocentric and masculinist IR by re-presenting it in non-Western, non-masculinist, and non-academic terms. Drawing on Daoist dialectics, the stories of Sihar and Shenya aim to redress such hegemonic imbalance by completing the IR story. To the yang of power politics, this book offers a yin of fairy-tale. (Both are equally fantastical but to different purposes.) To the yang of binary categories like Self vs Other, West vs Rest, hypermasculinity vs hyperfemininity, Sihar and Shenya show their yin complementarities and complicities, inside and out, top and bottom, center and periphery. And to the yang of intransigent hegemony, Sihar & Shenya explores the yin of emancipation through porous, water-like thought and behavior through venues like aesthetics and emotions. From this basis, we begin to see another world with another kind of politics. Written with students of IR and world politics in mind, this book offers a postcolonial bridge for IR/WP. Following an academic introduction to assist the reader, Ling moves away from traditional scholarship and into three interlocking fables: Book I shows what an alternative world could look and feel like. Book II makes the implications for IR/WP more explicit. It draws on the traditional Chinese notion of the five movements (wu xing) -- fire, metal, earth, wood, and water -- to illustrate iconic elements of IR/WP -- power, wealth, security, love, and knowledge -- and how they could change according to circumstance and context. Epilogue/Introduction: The Return brings the reader back into the Western world and focuses on modern-day PhD student Wanda who is troubled by what she is learning, and searches for a different perspective. Engaging with the substantive problematiques at the heart of international relations studies, this work is a unique and innovative resource for all students and scholars of international relations and world politics.

Counting The Days written by Leslie Rutkin and has been published by AuthorHouse this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-05 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

Counting the Days is a cop story and a love story that took place in the era when corruption in the NYC police department was rampant, and the Knapp Commission was dominating headlines. Matthew Smith, a decorated cop, had been handed $3000 after a drug bust - his share of the take. To accept the money would compromise his principles; not to take it would put his career in jeopardy. Either way he'd be in trouble. While on his honeymoon, Matthew was indicted on charges of grand larceny and went to prison for 366 days after refusing to turn state's evidence against corrupt cops in the anti-crime unit. Counting the Days, written by Matthew's wife, Leslie, based on more than 650 letters, cards and notes written by them while he was away, is the story of love and survival during a good cop's incarceration. A former "prince of the street" is trapped in the system he once championed, dealing with his own demons as well as befriending the kinds of men he had once locked up. It is a story of integrity, honor, commitment and true friendships - and most of all an enduring love. It is the story of Matthew's new role, that of ex-felon, never truly free no matter how far he travels from his time in prison.
