Ein Mann namens Bahati wurde von Daniel beauftragt eine Geschichte über die Reise zu schreiben. Bahati entscheidet sich nun 40 Menschen aus aller Welt in einen kleinen Saal einzuladen, um von ihren Erlebnissen mit den beiden Männern zu hören. The morning sun hit him like a furnace, and he backed up quickly, thinking he may die from the fervent heat, then he changed his mind, he wanted to die, being a bloody vampire wasn't going to be fun. He charged outside again, this time determined to stay outside and burn up like he had seen in the movies. It didn't happen, it just was hot like an open oven, the rays didn't fry him and the slight breeze felt nice on his skin. He went back in the cave and examined the girl, she was sleeping peacefully now and a voice in his head told him, silly boy its hot outside, lie down next to me until the sun sets at least; he complied, and quickly she bit him again. She was not satisfied until they were exhausted, and he had promised not to bite her again, the blood supply only refreshed if they took a break, so he slept in her arms until the sunset. She wanted him to stay but he refused, so she followed him begging and pleading to stay away from the city. He went home when she insisted he could run faster than a car and could walk clear of the ground. What amazed him was when she stopped time and they moved among the frozen vehicles on the freeway, passing by the delicious flavors of people sitting in their cars, with the ac flowing over them like snacks in the refrigerator. She told him, just open the door and take a treat and enjoy, no one would know and no one would care including the victims if you do it right. They both went to his house provided for him in Yuma, it was a simple apartment, but she was impressed, he wanted to send her away but just didn't have the heart to see her go. Instead they showered and took a nap together until the sun came up, he took her shopping and bot some clothes for himself, and then they went out for dinner. She taught him how not to hear the voices so much and how to keep himself full of regular food so he wouldn't snack; he reported into work and watched their faces flabbergasted that he was still alive. It had been more than a week since the crash, and a drone had found the hole in the fence while doing radiation readings, and thought some fencing guy had missed a spot. They seemed determined that he would die from the radiation, but he wanted to be released from duty while he still lived since his doctors processed him unfit for duty on the assumption he would die soon they obliged him. He and Kaia decided to go tie the knot in Vegas, especially after they discovered she was pregnant.
