THE "HUMAN DILEMMA" ...Animals by Nature, Humans-2.0 by Nurture* THIS BOOK CONTAINS: "EDUCATION BEYOND THE CLASSROOM"! The greatest achievement a human can accomplish it to find the "meaning of (human) life"! ANIMALS BY NATURE: All animals, humans included, are given the proclivity to engage in (procreative) sex and the ability to rear their offspring. This is simply nature's way of preventing extinction of the various species. But it's only the "human animal" that is given the potential to do more ...much more! Socrates proclaimed: "an UN-EXAMINED life is not worth living." I proclaim: "You'll never know you're in the dark ...until you FIND the light" -SEEK! WHAT: This book is a combination textbook and workbook. With it you will be able to "examine," in detail, every relevant aspect of "human" life. It includes the text (information and instructions), tools (analytical exercises), tips, and techniques needed to understand and then resolve the "Human Dilemma" ...Animals by Nature, Humans-2.0 by Nurture*" WHY: Because 21st century personal, societal, and planetary problems demand a significantly more powerful "You"! Humankind has reached an all-time high in human-on-human pain and suffering ...and "good" people must self-transform into "powerful" people if this out of control suffering is to be controlled. Make no mistake, these problems are intractable (difficult) but not insoluble (impossible). HOW: Resolve the "Human Dilemma." That is: strengthen yourself, then you will be in a position to strengthen those around you, and as a naturally occurring byproduct you will improve the human condition ...making this a better world! PERSPECTIVE: By natural and societal forces we have each been "PROGRAMMED" and therefore we have a WSoS (Weak Sense of "Self"). In other words, our knowledge of "self" comes from others, giving us little or no input as to who we are. Only thru Self-Transformation can we obtain an SSoS (Strong Sense of "Self"). The Self-Transformation, "Know Thyself," process requires you to "examine" human life in general and your life in particular. In short, you must find and define "You" without the input of others! This book will guide you through the process. Again, this is education beyond the classroom! HOW HUMAN PROGRAMMING WORKS: Nature gives us certain physical attributes. These attributes include race, gender, facial appearance, body shape (fat/thin/tall/short/etc.). Society-shapers use these attributes as the foundation for racism, sexism, ugly, pretty, etc. This PROGRAMMING forms a "Glass Ceiling" which keeps each of us in our "place" and, of course, obedient to authoritative rule be they right or wrong, good or bad. For proof, do an internet search on "Dr. Milgram" and you'll see that "we've all been PROGRAMMED" to be weak sustainers of the status quo, followers of leaders (good or bad)! Dr. Milgram's study has been repeated in recent years (see Eli Roth, et al) ...proof that time does not change us! While passively existing under the "Glass Ceiling," you will only know "you" relative to other humans. You will never know the True, powerful "You" ...as in "Know Thyself"! Plainly put, the "Human Dilemma" revolves around the fact that we humans have two "selves." There is a "relative-self" and there is an "absolute-self." Nature and society defines the "relative-self" and puts us in our "place" under the "Glass Ceiling." For example, whites and blacks, like males and females, are put into their societally-designated "places." How else could racism and sexism continue to thrive into the 21st century? These boundaries or boxes keep the rank-in-file divided and conquered. How else can 1% of the people own more wealth than 99% of the people? I leave off with the following: "You'll never know you're in the dark ...until you "FIND" the light"! -SEEK

"The author explores the meaning of folklore and its usefulness in education and psychotherapy. The book aims for deepening the awareness of our ultimate human concerns, the meaning of authenticity, and the urgent need for radical, long-term commitments. Throughout the book there is both the hidden and the overt implication that simply liking, appreciating or agreeing with insightful ideas and suggestions presented by anyone are absolutely worthless, or may even be counterproductive if the readers do not translate into changes and actions the ideas that are most meaninful to them."

In Psychology, Folklore, Creativity and the Human Dilemma, the author explores the meaning of folklore and its usefulness in education and psychotherapy. The author’s interest has expanded into other fields that challenge and question the limits of our everyday horizons, namely, into operas, plays, and humor, as well as into new approaches to the meaning of human existence explored by modern thinkers. These various fields often interact, explain, and enrich each other. The book aims for deepening the awareness of our ultimate human concerns, the meaning of authenticity, and the urgent need for radical, long-term commitments. The present volume focuses almost entirely on the role of folklore in expanding and enriching a person’s horizons, on the challenges by modern writers in terms of the need to radically alter the paradigm of Western society that has brought the blessings of technology, led to a fragmentation of our psyche, and threatens the very essence of our subjectivity. Throughout the book there is both the hidden and the overt implication that simply liking, appreciating or agreeing with insightful ideas and suggestions presented by anyone are absolutely worthless, or may even be counterproductive, if the readers do not translate into changes and actions the ideas that are most meaningful to them, and if they do not do so in their family, social, political and spiritual life.

'Plays: Fourth Series' is a series of short plays written by John Galsworthy. Titles featured inside include 'A Bit O' Love', 'The Foundations', and 'The Skin Game'. The first story in the book is the play 'A Bit O'Love' which begins at Ascension Day in a village of the West. In the low paneled hall-sitting room of the Burlacombe's farmhouse on the village green, Michael Strangway, a clerical collar round his throat and a dark Norfolk jacket on his back, is playing the flute before a very large framed photograph of a woman, which is the only picture on the walls. His age is about thirty-five his figure thin and very upright and his clean-shorn face thin, upright, narrow, with long and rather pointed ears; his dark hair is brushed in a coxcomb off his forehead. A faint smile hovers about his lips that Nature has made rather full and he has made thin, as though keeping a hard secret; but his bright gray eyes, dark round the rim, look out and upwards almost as if he were being crucified. There is something about the whole of him that makes him seen not quite present. A gentle creature, burnt within.

Human behavior often violates the predictions of rational choice theory. This realization has caused many social psychologists and experimental economists to attempt to develop an experimentally-based variant of game theory as an alternative descriptive model. The impetus for this book is the interest in the development of such a theory that combines elements from both disciplines and appeals to both. The editors have brought together leading researchers in the fields of experimental economics, behavioral game theory, and social dilemmas to engage in constructive dialogue across disciplinary boundaries. This book offers a comprehensive overview of the new insights into the motivation of human behavior under a variety of naturally or artificially induced incentive structures that are emerging from their work. Amnon Rapoport--a pioneer and leader in experimental study and quantitative modeling of human decisions in social and interactive contexts--is honored.

Space Time And The Limits Of Human Understanding written by Shyam Wuppuluri and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-12-01 with Science categories.

In this compendium of essays, some of the world’s leading thinkers discuss their conceptions of space and time, as viewed through the lens of their own discipline. With an epilogue on the limits of human understanding, this volume hosts contributions from six or more diverse fields. It presumes only rudimentary background knowledge on the part of the reader. Time and again, through the prism of intellect, humans have tried to diffract reality into various distinct, yet seamless, atomic, yet holistic, independent, yet interrelated disciplines and have attempted to study it contextually. Philosophers debate the paradoxes, or engage in meditations, dialogues and reflections on the content and nature of space and time. Physicists, too, have been trying to mold space and time to fit their notions concerning micro- and macro-worlds. Mathematicians focus on the abstract aspects of space, time and measurement. While cognitive scientists ponder over the perceptual and experiential facets of our consciousness of space and time, computer scientists theoretically and practically try to optimize the space-time complexities in storing and retrieving data/information. The list is never-ending. Linguists, logicians, artists, evolutionary biologists, geographers etc., all are trying to weave a web of understanding around the same duo. However, our endeavour into a world of such endless imagination is restrained by intellectual dilemmas such as: Can humans comprehend everything? Are there any limits? Can finite thought fathom infinity? We have sought far and wide among the best minds to furnish articles that provide an overview of the above topics. We hope that, through this journey, a symphony of patterns and tapestry of intuitions will emerge, providing the reader with insights into the questions: What is Space? What is Time?
