There’s a voice in the universe calling each of us to remember our purpose—our reason for being here now, in this world of impermanence. The voice whispers, shouts, and sings to us that this experience of being in form, in space and time, knowing life and death, has meaning. The voice is that of inspiration, which is within each and every one of us. In this groundbreaking book, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer explains how we’ve chosen to enter this world of particles and form. From our place of origin, in ways that we don’t readily comprehend now, we knew what we were coming here to accomplish, and we participated in setting this life process in motion. So why not think this same way? Why put the responsibility or blame on any one or any thing that’s not a part of us? On Earth we have the capacity of volition—we can choose—so let’s assume that we had the same capacity when we resided in the spiritual realm. We chose our physical body, and we chose the parents we needed for the trip. It doesn’t seem too great a stretch to move into the idea that we chose this life in concert with our Source. Each chapter in this book is filled with specifics for living an inspired life. From a very personal viewpoint, Wayne Dyer offers a blueprint through the world of spirit to inspiration, your ultimate calling.

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a mental disorder of the neurodevelopmental type. It is characterized by difficulty paying attention, excessive activity, and behavior without regards to consequences which is not appropriate for a person's age. There are also often problems with regulation of emotions. The symptoms appear before a person is twelve years old, are present for more than six months, and cause problems in at least two settings (such as school, home, or recreational activities). In children, problems paying attention may result in poor school performance. Additionally there is an association with other mental disorders and substance misuse. Although it causes impairment, particularly in modern society, many people with ADHD can have sustained attention for tasks they find interesting or rewarding (known as hyperfocus).

ADHD is estimated to affect about 6-7% of people aged 18 and under when diagnosed via the DSM-IV criteria. When diagnosed via the ICD-10 criteria rates in this age group are estimated at 1-2%. Children in North America appear to have a higher rate of ADHD than children in Africa and the Middle East; this is believed to be due to differing methods of diagnosis rather than a difference in underlying frequency. If the same diagnostic methods are used, the rates are more or less the same between countries. It is diagnosed approximately three times more often in boys than in girls. This difference between sexes may reflect either a difference in susceptibility or that females with ADHD are less likely to be diagnosed than males.

Chasing Kites is unflinching look at growing up with ADHD at a time in which there was little to no awareness. If you want to know and feel what someone with ADHD goes through, there is not a better way to understand than Chasing Kites. Tom Nardone shares his personal stories in the most honest and genuine fashion. Some of which are hysterically funny, while others are quite moving and touching. Through these stories, Tom connects with his readers by actually explaining what was going through his mind, and/or his thought process at the time which they occurred. Tom, for more than half of his life, was not accepted by the majority of his peers. He did not fit into any of society's norms. This was evident in the fact he was bullied and picked on daily for his first 10 years of school, and the fact he was fired from more jobs than he can recount. Chasing Kites is not an ADHD manual. It is a true story that spans from kindergarten through high school and well into adulthood. It's a story of victory and defeat. It's a story of love and hate. Chasing Kites is the story of Tom Nardone going from being a troubled young boy to being a hero to so many others like him. "Tom writes with passion, sincerity, and honesty. I was moved to tears." Rick Green of "TotallyADD(c)" "There are a handful of people in the ADHD universe who can successfully combine biting humor with heart-wrenching truth to yield provocative prose that entertain while enlightening. Tom Nardone is one of the few." Alan Brown of "ADDCrusher(c)" and "CrusherTV(c)" "I have never read anything so vulnerable, so honest, so inspiring or funny. I highly recommend it." Laurie Dupar of "The International ADHD Coach Training Center(c)" "Gripping and compelling! I did not put it down until the end." Jennie Friedman of the "See in ADHD(c)" Podcast Tom Nardone is widely known in the ADHD community from his writing, interaction, and most notably "The Tom Nardone Show" which can be heard on iTunes(c) and iHeartRadio(c). Tom is an unapologetic fresh voice in the ADHD community, and is respected and loved for the entertaining attitude he takes toward his own ADHD. While for a long time it has been Tom Nardone's primary purpose to entertain his audience, this book is something very different. Tom loves ADHD people. It is primarily for them and their family and friends for whom he wrote Chasing Kites however, anyone who reads this will get something from it.

A practical system for those with ADHD to take back their personal power and embrace their unique talents for success in the modern world • Explains how those with ADHD grow up wounded by the negative labels and attitudes surrounding them and their “diagnosis” • Shares simple and fast-acting techniques from neurolinguistic programming (NLP) to recalibrate painful memories into valuable learning experiences, re-pattern learned behaviors and negative habits, and discover personal motivation • Reveals how the novelty-seeking behaviors of those with ADHD are valuable assets to society and should be embraced rather than suppressed One of the first rules of child-rearing is “condemn the behavior, not the child.” Yet this commonsense rule doesn’t seem to apply in the case of attention deficit disorder, or ADHD, where the very name of the condition implies that those labeled with it are “disordered,” “deficient,” and incapable of paying attention. Those with ADHD grow up wounded, told by teachers, guidance counselors, even parents that they are dysfunctional and unable to succeed in the “normal” world. But, as ADHD expert Thom Hartmann explains, those with ADHD are capable of great success if they can shift the negative self-image created by others and learn to work with their unique strengths. In this accessible guide for adults with ADHD and the parents and teachers of ADHD children, Hartmann offers a practical system of useful tools and strategies to heal the damage done to a person who grew up labeled as “dysfunctional” and help them cope with--and succeed at--daily life. He explains how the character traits of ADHD were once valuable assets in hunter-gatherer societies and that the later dominance of agricultural and industrial societies, where “farmer” and “worker” skillsets excel, left ADHD “hunters” as behavioral outcasts. Sharing simple and often fast-acting techniques from neurolinguistic programming (NLP), Hartmann explains how those with ADHD can take back their personal power, recalibrate painful memories into valuable learning experiences, shed fears and negative habits, and rebuild their self-image in a positive way. By integrating the strategies in this book into daily life, those with ADHD can transform their way of responding to the world, discover personal motivation, and teach their children to do the same. As Hartmann reveals, it is not ADHD that needs to be healed but our attitudes toward those born with the “hunter” gift.

Willie written by Ann Colin and has been published by Penguin (Non-Classics) this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1998 with Education categories.

The story of Willie is the story of an intelligent, creative, healthy child who, as his mother says, is "wired" a little differently from other people. Nearly ten percent of school-aged children are diagnosed with ADD -- Attention Deficit Disorder -- and the condition has vaulted into the public awareness. Now, for the first time, a mother speaks out about the day-to-day realities of life with a child with ADD.This honest, moving, heartwrenching, and joyful account of Willie's first five years details a dizzying parade of doctors, schools, treatments, and therapies, and the inevitable emotional seesaw that ensued. Through the insensitivity of a preschool staff to the psychologist who labeled Willie "brain-damaged", Ann and her husband searched for the key to Willie's bouts of belligerence and excitability, strengthened by their love for him, and by their belief in their son's ability to overcome these challenges. Their -- and Willie's -- ultimate triumph is an inspiration and a lifesaver for a family facing ADD or any other crisis.

As there are no proper medical tests available to predict certain diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s at an early stage, there is a need to further study and consider the potential uses of bio- and nature-inspired algorithms and future technologies such as machine learning in correlation to disease detection and treatment. Bio-Inspired Algorithms and Devices for Treatment of Cognitive Diseases Using Future Technologies considers new tools for early detection of cognitive brain diseases using devices and algorithms whose basic concept is taken from nature and discusses design, analysis, and application of various bionics or bio-inspired algorithms. Covering topics such as depression and cognitive science, this publication is an ideal resource for researchers, academicians, industry professionals, psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, engineers, instructors, and students.
