Sei es als Zoom-Meeting zwischen Regierungschef:innen, als Meme in Internetforen oder als Tweet bei Twitter. Eine globale Vernetzung, dessen heutige Ausdehnung weit über das hinausgeht, was sich viele Menschen vor 20 oder 25 Jahren überhaupt vorstellen konnten. Für Niklas Luhmann ist diese „Vermehrung und Verdichtung des Kommunikationsnetzes der Gesellschaft“ ein Zeichen und eine Voraussetzung für die Weltgesellschaft.
